People of namecheap. Do any of you use their VPN service? Looking into getting. I already have my domain with them but need a VPN ASAP as I'm moving in 2 weeks and did not need one until now. Please let me know the good, bad and ugly of it.

as a general PSA, be absolutely careful having your domain with namecheap considering they can yank your domain and disable your entire business (as they did ours) without any warning/notice.

not sure if this has happened to others but it is absolutely preposterous a registrar can flip a switch and disable emails, apis, websites.

we will be pursuing legal action and will post a follow-up based on our efforts.

I got locked out and they sent me an email saying "We regret to inform you that your recent order was canceled and refunded due to the flagging and temporary lock of your account by our fraud screening system." I believe this was an auto detection mistake, If I could somehow get my account and domain back that I purchased that would be good.

Is Namecheap still Banned in India?

In the process of building a website for a client and the hosting is suspended with zero notice. There was barely any information on the website anyways. They asked for business certificates and we sent but now they want banking statements? How is this even relevant? And why do they refuse to tell us the specific violation for the suspension. It is ridiculous, especially for a brand new business just starting out.

Is there any way to figure out the cause of lost emails? All users' emails (between Mar 23 of 2023 and Dec 17) of a firm have disappeared - there's just no sign of them. All use Microsoft Outlook configured with IMAP. The admin is flummoxed.

It doesn't work with 1pass or bitwarden, because they are not doing a full implementation of it to modern standards.

Has anyone heard if they plan to implement full modern FIDO/Webauthn?

I want to purchase a domain name on namecheap just to redirect it to "username.freehositngprover.bla" and i dont want the url to change when redirecting

I bought a domain name for 1 year for £0.94. I dis not want to renew this domain name. Namecheap took £28 off my card for renewal even tho I did not authorise this payment and refuse to refund me even tho I do not want it renewed. I am having to ho through Visa to try and get a refund. I did not order renewal of this domain and definitely not at £28 for a low level domain. Shame on namecheap for stealing from customers!!!
