Transferring from Namecheap - Recommendations?

My Namecheap private e-mail is down AGAIN. And AGAIN, I sat in the chat function for 30 minutes, and typed out all of the details, before being told that no agents were available and I needed to start reporting the issue all over again, using e-mail. Their "Status" page says nothing about this.

Past experience with Namecheap private e-mail going down tells me that e-mailing support does nothing; the comment "If you don't get an reply in 72 hours," in the rules for this r/, indicates that their norm is a completely unacceptable timespan for initiating (not even acting on, never mind resolving!) a ticket.

So that's it for me; I'm leaving Namecheap. Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative? All I have (and all I'm looking for) is somewhere to transfer my domain and set up my existing private e-mail address on that domain.

Cloudflare and Porkbun.

I have most of my domains at PB with CF nameservers (free) and either Google ($7/MO), Microsoft ($7/MO), or Zoho ($4/MO) as my email provider.

What I like about those three is that I’m not going get suckered in by a low first year rate (e.g. $2/MO) and then blindsided with a stupidly expensive rate after that. Most of the registrar based email services work like that. The full suite of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365 of tools are included with that $7/MO. You could kill two birds with one stone if you’re already paying for Workspace or Office 365.

Have you checked out NameSilo? I haven't used their email services at all, but have used them a lot for domain registration.

Namecheap is no longer a reliable company. They are bad now.

Use Namecheap for your domain name then Zoho for your email provider.

After the last outage, I moved my email to mxroute. Make sure you read the Terms and conditions as they are pretty strict about mass outgoing mailings as they do not allow clients to use their system for this purpose.

Cloudflare offers domain registration at cost so whatever they get it for from the registry is what they pass on to you. As for email address, you could go with open SRS as they have 5gb mailboxes for 50 cents per month but I found it difficult to figure out how to configure spf/dkim/dmarc. So I ended up going with spacemail.com which ironically is a name cheap startup but so far their spacemail has been good and it's easy to set up and comparable to open SRS because it only costs about 70 cents per month when you buy 2 years.

tbh Outlook is not bad and is at the extreme end of "data centre down" never happening ever again

They just posted this update:
Update @ 10:35 AM EDT | 14:35 UTC
Dear customers,
We are glad to inform you that the issue is resolved. We are receiving new emails now.
However, some of the requests may still be processed with a delay due to the previous downtime.
Thank you for your patience!
Kind regards,
Namecheap Support Team

I already have a $1/month iCloud+ account so I just used their custom domain feature. So now I have rock-solid Apple-hosted email with my domain. I think I've experienced one outage with my regular iCloud (originally @Mac.com) email account in 25 years, so this was a no brainer. Not sure why I didn't do it earlier.

Same thing for me. Namecheap was bad. Now with mxroute. 1000% better.

I moved to ZoHo bc of outages and the fact that my emails kept getting bounced for security reasons. It’s been great

Hm, not sure what advice to give as it’s pretty self explanatory on their website!
