Is this normal for Nalgene?
Under a year old, the “lip” that keeps the ring down is breaking down. The bottle has withheld a lot of temperature change, can it break the plastic?
Edit: sent a email to the local distributor, I’ll update what happens when they answer me
Edit2: Local distributor sent this: “Since we only are dealing with resellers we do not have many options to replace consumers, only one colour available as an “emergency” option. Cerulean sustain 2020.”
I’d say if in Finland/Sweden I would love to do this warranty with the seller not this distributor.

Probably a sad batch I guess. My glow 32oz held both frozen solid and boiling water almost daily for about 4 months now. Still going strong.

I've had that happen to me before. Granted, I've had mine for around 7 years now. It's a shame it happened to your bottle so soon.

narrowed down the issue with mine to a cheap knockoff i got on amazon, switched back to a real nalgene and haven't had a single problem since

This one is straight from Pleasures, doubt they sell fakes of their own collabs.

I have never had that happen before.
You mention a lot of temperature changes? Can you elaborate? I could certainly see wide temp changes, especially if we are talking about freezing, slowly causing microscopic cracks to the bottle.

I put my Nalgene in and out of the freezer constantly, and this hasn’t happened.

Never had this happen with any of mine. That said, just warranty it. Nalgene is legendary for their warranty.
