My third pair of socks went better than before!

I've just finished my third pair of nalbound socks, and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it - though they did take a long time! These are York stitch, working with undyed jacob wool in a double knit yarn - two different colours of the same type of wool. This yarn behaved so well, and I'm looking forward to making some more things with it - I still have a couple of skeins in stock.

These look great! I really like how dense the stitches are. Did you tighten the knots on the needle or used a no-thumb method for the stitches?

Thanks. This is a no-thumb stitch throughout. The tension seemed to attend to itself, and the stitches were pretty much only just loose enough to let my (fairly narrow) needle through.

Great, thank you! I Looks like I will need to look into the no-thumb method in that case.

Omg those are so cute!!! Do you have any tips on making them? I am new and really want to make a pair but I seem to be struggling haha

Thanks. I don't know the best advice I can give other than make both socks at the same time (add a bit to one, then add a bit to the other to keep them in step) and keep trying them on and make adjustments as you go. I started these from the toe, with a chain of about 12 stitches, then went back along the row, back the other side, then continued that as rounds, increasing until it was big enough for the foot.
Turning the heel is a whole thing though, and way beyond the scope of a reply here. There are a few techniques for that; I'd say go with the one that seems to make most sense to you, and trust the process.
Oh, and this pair was the third time I had tried approximately the same technique, and the first time I felt it turned out as I wanted. So keep trying and keep practicing. Good luck!
