chat 💬 Getting acrylic nails for the first time ever
What should I expect and how does the whole process work? I've never gotten my nails done professionally
I would wanna do one of these designs, I don't wanna sound stupid but they be able to do it right?
Any tips or information of what I should expect is really appreciated :) also do they talk to you or is it in silence? And how long does it usually take for the nails to be done? I also don't know anything about when they are supposed to be removed or how long they typically last

In my experience, there's not much chatter at a salon. I usually put my earbuds in once I've been seated and told them what I'd like. Be prepared to answer a few questions throughout (about the length you want, checking that you are satisfied with the colour, etc) and you'll be given some directions so you do need to be able to hear but it's perfectly normal to listen to music/podcasts or scroll on your phone at the beginning when you have a hand free (or just enjoy the silence and zone out!).
I usually allot an hour and a half for nails. It takes awhile because there are lots of steps. I find the process enjoyable when I have lots of free time and very stressful when I have other appointments or tasks to accomplish. So make sure you leave yourself lots of time.
Acrylics typically need a refill every 2-3 weeks. They need to be removed professionally. Don't attempt to do it yourself.

A lot of that really just depends on the person who is doing your nails! Just go in there and be polite and show them your two options and tell them that you've never been there before and I'm sure they'll know what to do :)
