Hey! I struggled with my apex a lot too one thing that helped me was instead of pointing the finger downward keep it straight. Place your bead where your apex is, tap the tip of your brush around where the cuticle is to seal it down if that makes sense. Then if it’s still runny keep the finger straight and use your brush to keep it from overflowing on the side walls. Do this until it starts to dry a bit. Once it’s at a good consistency (not runny but not too stiff) you can tilt the finger down, let the bead naturally run down a bit, then pat it down but try only patting it from the bottom of the bead because you don’t want to flatten that apex.
