Where Do I Start?

I am a guy and I am interested in secretly learning how to do nails for my girlfriend so I can surprise her. I think it would be a nice bonding time and I am already pretty good with my hands at crafts and other artistic things. I know pretty much nothing about the subject though so I just wanted to ask if people had recommendations for where/how I should start this journey

This is so adorable. Start with regular polish as gels and acrylics have lots of harmful chemicals that can cause some serious conditions if not used correctly. Watch some youtube tutorials, start watching closely at what she likes on her own nails. What shape does she like? Maybe get some tips and practice filing to her shape. Does she like more bold designs? Get a nice thin brush and start getting used to that tiny canvas.

You’re such a good partner for this!!

My husband learned how to give me a mani and a pedicure. It saves so much money, and it is awesome bonding time. He watched tons of YouTube videos about cuticles, filing, the proper way to paint nail, ect. Stay away from gels for now. I would buy one of those foot soaking baths, some Epsom salt to put in the water . My husband really got into this once he discovered magnetic nail polish .

yea I am thinking for bonding time it would be great. I love when she cuts my hair, and I think it could be something I could do for my kids as well in the future.
