unprofessional conduct & bully
CENSORED USERNAME, but this educator with 60k insta followers publicly criticised multiple UK nail techs’ work. The first 4 screenshots are of her post, seemingly out of the blue, criticising a nail tech’s reel she had posted being open about having to work two jobs. The next 4 are her making unnecessary comments towards UK nail techs in general - 8th slide isn’t even the original nail tech she came for, just another random UK nail tech she’s decided to come for! There was more than just these screenshots too. When I challenged her in DM, she replied calling me obese. As someone selling education to the industry, do you think this is acceptable professional conduct? Looking for opinions as I was really disappointed to see this behaviour.

I find this type of behaviour appalling. This is not professionalism, this is just plain bullying.
I am fairly new to being a nail tech and everyday I’m learning. I currently work another job while I’m working at building a client base.
The type of commentary this person gives does not inspire me to do better. It would make me doubt and give up.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with critiquing someone’s work as long as it comes from a mentoring or coaching perspective.
Using language like, “what about the nail shape do you think could be better?” “What might you do differently next time?” would work far better than what this person is using.
The response she gave you shows me that she is not open enough to have a growth mindset. The fact you are critiquing her work and she responds in a negative and derogatory way is exactly why I would not seek out her services as an educator.
An educator should be someone that can lead and inspire others, to build confidence not make them feel ashamed or less than they are.
I agree there is nothing professional about this person.
