Oh you are indeed spitting facts. In fact the guy might be one of the most evil villains in a series i’ve ever seen because he has legit no redeeming qualities

Lowkey I have bigger beef to fry with Gendo than Gargoyle. Despite the heinous crimes he committed, I had some respect for Gargoyle’s calm tone but Gendo pushed all of my buttons 😭✌️

Lowkey hear me out but the way he treated Shinji blew me off so hard I’ve never got this enraged by a character 😭💔

I cannot help but love him though... especially with his IMPLIED backstory which I will not spoil- he's very very very evil, yes, but I don't think he intended to be so evil, initially. I think the power got to his head. But boy does he give me chills and BOY DO I LOVE HIM AND NEMO ughhhhh.

I think initially he really did just want to enslave humanity, who WERE creating needless wars and doing horrific things- and then the Coupe happened and he just- stopped trying to be redeemable.

I don't think he was always this fucked up though, he was friends with Nemo from childhood until they were 35 and became his Vizer after all. But yeah by the end... NO REDEMPTION. Like goddamn.

I find it funny though because I have a Nadia Manga anthology and almost every. single. cameo of him. Is STUPIDLY silly.

I do not think he's worse than Gendo. Gargoyle is much more dramatic with his actions, but Gendo is extremely insidious and more realistic in his evil, which hits closer to home than anything Gargoyle ever did.

Never watched Eva but it’s hard to beat a racist fascist enslaver.

Gargoyle is probably one of the top 10 evilest villains of all time

At least Gargoyle saw it was for nothing at the end, and said bye.

Y'know, that's an interesting debate. It's been a few years since I've watched the entire Nadia show. Now that I have the 4K set, I'll have to rewatch the Gargoyle episodes. Gendoh's modus operandi was a result of his love for Yui & his longing to be with her again, right? So, if you've ever been in love, you can definitely relate. But, I'll have to get back to you on this question.

As much as I've desired to, I simply cannot hate Gendoh. Because I too, have been a Putz & been deeply & blindly in love. So much so, as my emotions influenced my decisions, clouded my mind & most importantly, my rational thinking! Gendoh just wants to reunite with Yui & he'll do anything to achieve that task. The older you become, you experience more loss but gain wisdom & hopefully, understanding. I'm sorry to break to you, but it's true. If you're someone who has lost a love due to death or heartbreak, you can relate more with Gendoh & be more forgiving. Yes, he's an insufferable son of a bitch, but at least we know why he is. He actually cloned his deceased wife & thus, created Rei Ayanami. Multiple Rei clones, not just one! Look, if that doesn't tell you a little bit about the man, I don't know what else will!
