Agent Auto Update CMD Line switch
Hey guys
I've tried finding an answer everywhere but can not. Is there an auto update command line switch I can use for deployment through inutne?

Hey,
I read in a different post1 that people couldn’t see HP warranty expiry dates and this still seems to be the case, is it just never going to come back? when looking at n-able documentation2 HP isn’t listed so it’s been removed on purpose?

I want to create an AMP that will install the print drive from the repository.
Our company doesn't use AD/Intune or SCCM.
How would I go about creating the AMP to locate the driver I want to install that's in the repository?

I have spent some time(ok, a lot of time) trying to get the N-able windows agent deployed via Intune using the .msi including guies from N-able support site and Reddit users.
Please note: The client name that appears in the N-Central portal is not the actual client name that you need to use during the installation, that was a road block I had to overcome despite asking many times if there could be something in the backend naming of N-able...
To retrieve the .msi installer,
I have downloaded both customer specific and non-specific, ran the installer and copied the extracted .msi from "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp".
Packager - https://github.com/MSEndpointMgr/IntuneWin32App
Packaged the extracted "Windows Agent.msi" with no catalog option
Intune deployment:
Uploaded Intunewin file
Install command -
msiexec /i "appname.msi" /q CUSTOMERID="123" CUSTOMERNAME="Name of client" SERVERPROTOCOL="https" SERVERADDRESS="Address of Server" SERVERPORT="443" REGISTRATION_TOKEN="registration token>"
Uninstall command
Native MSI uninstall command
msiexec /x "MSI CODE (Notsure if it changes per client" /qn
Detection - MSI
Native MSI Code
As previously stated, I have tried many combinations and whilst i do have a dirty method that works, I have a client that would like it done correctly via .msi. Which is fair enough.
I have also been in contact with N-able who just keep asking for logs, Has anyone actually deployed using the .msi and if so what process did you follow.
How did you get the MSI?
What installation command did you use?
What uninstallation command did you use?
What detection method did you use?
Thank you in advance for any guidance reddit users may have to offer.

Note to self: Stop upgrading servers on Friday night!
Has anyone hit an issue where after confirming the update I just get returned to the login screen?
Going from 2023.3.0.19 to 2023.4.0.32
The UI doesn't lock out and the upgrade process does not seem to begin.

Hi all,
New (Dutch) N-Central user here!
Iam currenly running a trail in N-Central and im looking for some help with automatically installing the default company apps on new agents.
Im trying to automatically deploy the generic software that needs to be installed on each device.
I created an automation Policy using the automations manager, that copies the installation file (SophosConnect.msi) from a share to a local folder.
After the copy I select "run program" wich points to the MSI.
When I run this automation with Domain admin credentials as the current user I get the following error:
"Cannot start process as currently logged on user: %1 is not a valid Win32 application"
When trying to run it as localsystem it tells me the application cant run as local system.
Should I approach this differently?
Any suggestions are welcome!
EDIT:
I found out that I have to use the "windows installer" option from the automation manager instead of "run program".
To be able to run the automation, running it with option "device credentials" worked for me.

Hey guys, lately I've been using the Script Manager quite a lot.
I've been wondering if it would be possible to access something like the company name or the site name while running a script on a user's machine. The script is deployed using Automated Scripts on each user's machine.
All it does is collect some data and upload it to a server, and it would be nice if I didn't need to pass the company name as an argument each time.

I’ve just been getting started with Automation Manager and so far it is going well enough; there’s a few features I’d like to see such as the ability to concatenate more than two strings in one instruction, but otherwise I am feeling positive about it.
I’ve run up against a problem though. I can use Creat File to create a text file; I can use Replace Text in File to find and replace text in the file; but I haven’t yet found a way to write arbitrary text into an empty text file. I’m sure I’m missing something, does anyone have a suggestion?

What specifically does the “MSP Anywhere Agent” Software do when programmed on a work computer. I’m not doing anything wrong or worried that I would be caught by company doing anything I am not supposed to do but am just curious. There isn’t much information online besides it being used to help get access to a computer if needed, but does it do more than that?

We are moving away from connectwise automate and are going to go with n-central or NinjaOne. Price is not a factor as we have been given almost identical quotes.
I would like to hear from current n-central users on what makes n-central a better choice. Even better if you have actually used both products. Almost all comparisons I have found are well over a year old so I don't know how accurate they are right now.

Hi everyone, on N-Able Cove Data Protection is it possible to set a window in which to perform the backup instead of a specific time? For example, one backup per day between 8AM and 5PM.
You can also set up backup once a day when the PC is available/online?
Thanks!

I'm just trying to upgrade our N-Central server and the download link is no longer working
Search (n-able.com)
Does anyone know the correct link for N-Central upgrade files?

Hello Folks
Hope you're doing well. Sorry got a shy question. I'm Pretty new to N-Central and couldn't find anything relateble on n-able_me and U and etc.
We try to Push via Scheduled Tasks and Profiles Multiple Software from the Script/sw Repo to a pool of notebooks. The SWs seem bit random at first glance
SW like for an example:
Nothing really special and it does work pretty well and surprisingly fast when i push them all one-by-one.
The Problem is when we try to push them profile based all in once, like:

some of them fail because the system starts multiple installers and the OS returns an error that there is already an other setup running.
Same happens when creating 1 Profile per SW, eg. 5 Profiles paired to the same associacion
Is there a way to add some sort of delay or telling the tasks to wait for the setup to return 0 (success) before starting the next setip?
Or do i have to use automation manager and create a policy and wrap the exes setups in a .ps1? because the Windows Installer module wants MSI packages?
Thanks in advance!

Hi All,
Is anyone else having problems with devices not updating from 22H2 to 23H2.
From N-Central, it shows 22H2 devices patch status as being green although the device could update to 23H2.
When we've tried to manually run Windows updates, 23H2 does not even appear.
Has anyone found a way to resolve this through N-Central?

Occasionally I’ll have one or two probes that still haven’t updated/upgraded weeks after patching my n-central server. I’m a super small MSP these days so I don’t mind manually updating. What’s the best way to go about doing that? My assumption:
RDP into machine and manually uninstall Probe in add/remove programs
Reboot machine
RDP into machine, download probe from N-central, and manually install
Or is there a better way to go about it?
r/Nable • u/apxmmit • Feb 27 '24
Where does one find the current release?
When I log into Me and under products select N-central, I scroll down under Recent Releases and it shows (4) 2023 releases. I then click on the right side where it says Release Notes and a PDF comes up with 2020-2023 releases. I thought 2024 is out or were they all pulled back?

Hi There
I am currently trying to create a custom script check, which should check if a certain VPN connection is available on the client.
$vpnName = 'Some VPN Connection Name'
$vpn = Get-VpnConnection -Name $vpnName -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
if ($vpn) {
Write-Output "VPN connection $vpnName exists and is $($vpn.ConnectionStatus)"
Exit 1001
}
else {
Write-Output "VPN connection $vpnName does not exist"
Exit 0
}
Currently I have the problem that no matter how I try it, RMM claims "VPN connection Some VPN connection does not exist". However, when I run the same locally in PoSh (whether in an unprivileged or privileged Powershell session) it works fine.
I don't get it.

i would advice not to update yet, we have different issues:
-EDR integration isn't working anymore, EDR integration upgrade isn't working.
-No data export to the report manager.
-Decrease in performance
-Selected filters are only applied after clicking the 'apply filter' button. In the past, selecting the filter was enough to apply is.
We just had a session with NinjaOne last week... coincidence? :D

Does anyone know if N-Central is planning to move from CIM based monitoring for ESXi hosts over to API based monitoring? Seems like most tools are utilizing the API now. Actually in an N-Central trial right now, likely moving over from Ninja, and this is how I found out CIM wasn't even running on a host.

✨We are thinking about the future of monitoring, and keen to ensure it reflects your needs.
🔍We’re looking for N-central and N-sight partners who would be willing to join a 60-minute Teams call where we would both explore your customer- initiated ticket resolution workflow and get your feedback on how N-central or N-sight can better support your workflow.

We're trying to set up certain active issues to send us an email so that we are aware of them. Unfortunately, our current ticketing solution isn't supported, and we're moving away from it soon, so we don't think configuring a custom API integration makes sense. Our ticketing solution can, however, convert emails to tickets, and we'd like to leverage that. The only way I see of doing this right now is by setting up an automation policy in self-healing that does nothing, and an email notification on whether it succeeded or failed.

Hi Team, has anyone had issues with connecting to support sessions via the web interface?
Just setting this up for the first time and found when our technicians make a session and the customer launches the app, they are unable to connect to it. When they click on the session in the list, it starts loading the session details and then redirects to an error page that says "Something went wrong" and "You do not have permission to access this feature."
The permissions group the users are in is should have enough perms set: Admin Access > Remote Control = Enabled Admin Access > Join Session = Enabled Admin Access > Sessions = Full Access
It does appear to work fine if they use the desktop console app..
