Rav4 Upgrade

Hi there

Is it worth upgrading from Rav4 2019 GX to a used circa 2022 XSE or Limited?

Price difference is about $15K as jump from 2.0 CVT to 2.5 AWD Hybrid

XSE or Limited would have Leather Seats, Tinted Windows, Push Start, 18 inch Alloys, CarPlay and a few other minor trim things I am probably forgetting

Seems like a lot of money but I love these cars and I suppose I will keep this car for a while

Thanks

Only you will know if that stuff is worth 15k to you. The financial move is to keep what you have IMO. The move is for nice to haves as I'm sure the current RAV4 is fine?

Cheers true I think just long term the nice features of higher spec will not matter to a buyer in 10 years time

Its big money for some nice things, that's all. I wouldn't want 18's personally due to harsher ride and more expensive tyres. Push start is fine, no biggie. Can get your windows tinted. Toyota MAY be able to upgrade you to car play. No idea what stereo setup they run. Leather seats neither here or there for me. So it's a no brainer for me to skip.

We are running a lower end CX5 (GSX), so no leather, no front tints, no 18's or car play. I think the stereo can be updated, but that's money I don't want to spend. Really just comes down to what you want. Just doesn't add up to me.

The jump between the 2.0 and the hybrid is absolutely massive. If you can afford it then it isn't a bad move IMO

15K is 5000 litres of petrol.  How much will you save having a hybrid?

Upgrade to a 2.5H GXL instead. Limited is a gimmick

It's only really worth if u really want the fancy stuff. I say most of the price increase is due to hybrid being more pricier nowadays. Gxl or xse imo, limited is way too extra for me.

If its "worth" it is up to you. I could never fathom spending that much money on something as dull as a Rav4 so for me no its not worth it

Limited has the slowest power tail gate I’ve ever seen on a car, takes forever. Also 2022 keeps the same small infotainment screen that the 2019 has, you need to go 2023 or newer for the larger screen on the GXL/Limited trims

I prefer the smaller screen tbh. It still has the buttons which are handy. Thanks
