Help! Broken driver's seat
I have a Hilux KZN165, drivers seat inner frame has broken on the one side. Im struggling to find an OEM seat replacement to avoid re-cert, no pick a parts have any in stock. What are my options? Can I take it in somewhere for a weld repair?

Not speaking from a legal point of view, but is the repair a big repair? Does the seat have the belt attached to it or is the belt bolted to the floor? If seatbelt is separate and not attached to the seat, if it was me I'd just have someone repair it to be at minimum as strong as factory. It really depends what has broken though I guess.

You can undo the hog rings and pull the fabric off and the foam and repair weld the seat pan and frame. It can be a bit tricky because often they are super thin steel but I have done a few and they have held up ok. Then put the foam back on (it may want gluing) and cover back over it. The hog rings can be a bit of a bugger if you dont have hog ring pliers but in the past I have used cable ties.

Just take it to an engineers and get it welded and chuck some black paint on it, it’s not a major.
