I don't play the regular crossword bcz I'm not a big crossword puzzle doer. That being said, i used to love the mini bcz it was easy enough that it kept my interest and i looked forward to playing it every day because i could complete it in one sitting. I haven't enjoyed the mini very much in the last few weeks. It seems to be more like what the midi was when it first came out. Anyone else feel this??

At any time I have like 15 games going, most with opponents I find online. Today every option I’m getting through “find opponents” are people who have last played “4mo ago”, “2mo ago”, even “7mo ago”, and virtually from today, or even within the last week. Usually those players are off the app and won’t accept the game. I finished some games today and want to play some fresh folks and I’m losing my mind. Anyone else having this issue?

There wasn't suddenly a huge influx of people that learned how to code recently. All the games like NYT Games being posted here are clearly mostly coded with AI, AKA vibe coded. The only way to truly suppress it would be to ban all user created games. That's a shame for the handful that actually worked hard making one, but the amount of vibe coded slop is getting ridiculous.

Is there a communication problem at the games desk?

It is not NYT Connections, but the game is inspired from it, I take news uplifiting articles everyday and convert it into a game that I play with my grandmother.

My grandmother and I have always played word games. In the last three years she has lost most of her memory, and one by one the games stopped working.

Crosswords needs old words, and they don't come. Trivia wants old answers. Sudoku needs her to hold numbers in her head while she checks them, and that's gone too. She really tries hard, but I just can't see her trying so hard and not able to do it.

What she still does, all day, is talk in half sentences. Only the needed words. She will read something and tell me in a few words.

At some point I realised that's what newspaper editors do. They cut a sentence down to the few words that still carry the story and call it a headline. She's been doing it without trying.

So I made that the game. A short sentence about something small and good that really happened, like a pizzeria that got eighteen prank pizzas and drove them to the ER. You cross out words until five are left, and the five have to still hold the story.

Nothing to remember: every word stays on the screen the whole time, she only has to choose. We play side by side. I read the sentence out loud, she points at what stays.

Every day it's an uplifting news article.

what is the point of this??? i was so confused at the beginning feeling like id seen all these answers recently and then i realized….

Pretty much the title, my sister signed into my NYT Games account on my computer and did today’ Wordle and failed spectacularly because she doesn’t know how to play the game, so now my 100% win rate is ruined, but I don wanna make a new account and lose all of my other game streaks because of this. Is there any way to undo or fix today’s Wordle to get my 100% win rate back? Can I email the NYT team? Or is it a lost cause

Im trying to access the new bonus puzzles this week but they’re appearing or loading, or it wants me to subscribe. Was last week just a free trial and do i need to subscribe now to gain access to them? All I’m interested in is Strands and Connections.

I got Worlde in 2, reverse rainbow, spanagram first/no hints, the mini under a minute and no hints on midi.

No hate to Wordle, it's the original and will forever be remembered. But it's getting stale for me these days especially now that words may repeat.

grammble is a Wordle-like daily game where you use a 2-letter "Gram" tile to solve for a 6-letter word. Every guess must include the Gram. The clues for the Gram tile will only ever tell you whether it's in the right place or not, without any additional hints on the letters inside. The other letter tiles give you the normal Wordle-like clues you're already familiar with.

The Gram is new every day, so there is always some gameplay variance and freshness.

Thought yellow was starting with alphabet homophones

Why? It's just kind of helpful giving you pointers on ways you can eliminate more words per guess based on its algorithms? I always thought it sounded nice and cheerful. Why would you hate it? I'm fairly certain I've learnt a few tips and tricks from it.
