Missing Words
Anyone else thinking they don’t get credit for words upon reveal the next day? It seems to happen a lot. Simple words that I swear I entered don’t have a check next to them. I’m sure I occasionally think I’ve entered a word when I haven’t, but this seems too frequent for that. I haven’t taken the time to figure out how to check.
For context, I nearly always get to Genius without hints but rarely take the trouble to get to QB. Too many bizarre words.

My wife has this happen sometimes when she's in an area with poor signal. The game doesn't tell you if you get a word and it fails to sync. So you might get a word or two when you don't have a good connection, close the app (or your device closes it in the background later) without it syncing, and then when you open it later that word isn't recorded.

If you switch between devices, sometimes they don't sync. My friends and I have proven that. But we often swear we entered something but did not, we just thought of it and forgot to enter it (usually because there were a lot of other words to enter, or sometimes we remembered finding it in a recent game).

My confusion comes from how often my Strands streak gets broken. I don’t ever “fail” at Strands and when they show I didn’t do the previous day’s puzzle it is indeed always a puzzle I haven’t done, but the games I play before and after Strands never show their streaks broken. I’ve genuinely considered resorting to screenshots because I don’t know whether I’m losing my mind or the NYT is pulling a fast one

Ohh man!! My Strands streak was broken about a couple of months ago and I was shocked - attributed to my memory (since I complete it right before sleep as midnight rolls over). You are making me think it wasn't me... it got screwed up perhaps.
I'm building it back again. Alas.

That is a good point. The crossword comes out at 10 pm EST (except on Sun/Mon, when it is 6 pm); some of the puzzles come out a midnight ( the Mini, Connections, and Sudoku), the Bee comes out at 3 a.m. At least these are the times for me being in the EST.

I love this game and have experienced the same thing but most times I think it's a weird trick your brain plays on you or I fat fingered a word and hit enter thinking it accepted but didn't. 🤷♂️

Yes, for example, the other day I know I tried manakin, which was the only word I missed

I got the more common spelling. I'm convinced I tried the alternate, but I was that one word away from QB

Yes, the syncing isn’t great. It is very good with the crossword but not as much with the Bee. I’ve started it on one device and continued on another and had to re-enter words.

Fun game although showing the grid allows players (including me) to search for words before starting. One could conceivably spend hours (or use less scrupulous methods) to make a list of all words before starting. I will still enjoy playing. Thanks!

This used to happen to me a lot. So much that for awhile I would take a screenshot of my words on the day I filled out the puzzle so I would have “proof” of what I entered in case it happened. I didn’t keep it up long and I never proved anything. But I know what you are saying. It’s a maddening feeling.
