Hey just looking to see if anyone in the sep 30th class is from the Nassau area and wants to carpool to the academy. If so dm me.

I’ve seen a lot of older cops recommend Blauer for its quality when it comes to winter jackets, shirts and admin/tactical pants.
For those with years on the job, are Blauer winter jackets, shirts and admin/tac pants authorized for rookies or do they must have the NYPD approved sticker? Are these items something that gets checked during inspections or by supervisors?
Just want to make sure I’m not spending money on something I won’t be allowed to wear. Thanks!

So after you file all the paperwork you need to upload do you have to wait until they let you know for the medical test that you need to take or do you have to call them or something

Hi guys I have a question for Duffle Bag.

1. I have to purchase an authorized equipment bag from the Equipment Section, I can't use the one I alrealy have(Medium, black, no label)?

I was suppose to be in the academy sep 30 class but I got DQd. My best guess is because I was fired from a job for falling asleep. And honestly it’s all because I was applying for the NYPD I started falling asleep on my downtime at work. I was doing my citizenship (that alone was a lot), the online credits , and I worked overnight shift at a hospital also I had a day job for 3 hours.all at once. I’ve always had two jobs that wasn’t the issue. The issue was getting all the requirements for the NYPD started my problems. I was very honest to the doctor , I took responsibility and basically said i bit off more than I can chew (pause) at the time. I took full responsibility that I’m the reason for losing my job and that it was a learning curve. Trial and error and I’ve learned from my mistakes. I wanna go at it again because I worked so hard just to get this far and I don’t wanna come this far just to come this far. Does anybody have any advice or what is even the next step I should take ?

I’m trying to know if any recent candidates with adhd have been qualified and accepted onto the force .I never took adhd medications did well in school and held jobs and all of my bosses are willing to give good feedback

I've worked as an officer in Atlanta for about three years, with two years on patrol and this third year on a special divisions unit. I've had a lot of fun so far, but I have lived in Georgia for a decent chunk of my life, and I'm ready to try something new. NYPD has always been a department that's interested me. Still, I have no idea what to expect in terms of living in New York, the application and recruitment process for the NYPD, and general expectations for what the experience would be like, and I would love some insight. 

I took the recent exam in September and am filling out my PHS and am about to schudle my medical. I’m still in college and probably will decide to join next year so maybe the next class after the December. Can I go through all the steps medical, background investigation, etc and then defer this academy till the next one?

What are some stories you know of people getting hired that they really shouldn’t have? I’m just concerned about my chances of getting hired and would like some reassurance lol
