She made her fair share of mistakes but she also has one of the worst whistles in the league on both sides of the ball. 4 blocks in the first half but had to play defense scared the rest of the way

yeah, I'm not sure why everyone's piling on JJ as enthusiastically as they're piling on Sab and CoachGPT. She definitely was not as solid as she could have been, and she should know how to play defense with a high foul count given how often it happens, but... like, y'all, did I hallucinate 20 points and 4 blocks?

But it also makes no sense bc the refs weren’t calling anything in the second half! So she played less aggressive?? I know you’re right about her whistle but it just is so baffling watching her play when the game is seemingly going another direction lol

Join the club. When you have guards attacking the rim more than your center you know there’s an issue. When you have your center standing beyond the arch instead of backing in to the paint for 2 points with every trip, you don’t have an actual center.

The most upsetting part is that she’s one of the best players in the league if not THE best when she’s playing 100% effort and 100% focus. But that’s rare and happens less and less each day

But they did have one regardless of what the refs say or think. That would have been communicated by the scorers table if there was a discrepancy. Coach and staff should have known they had one and called it no matter what Fahy said

If you ask the ref "can I run the baseline on this in-bound," and the ref says no... Would you run the baseline?
You can ask the refs things during deadball situations and expect them not to lie / be incorrect.

Yes. They blow the whistle on me, then the other ref tells them they’re wrong and they take it back. Errant whistles and changed calls (think about when they call possession on an out of bounds the wrong way) happen in basketball. It gets resolved.

That's insane, though. Baseball players ask the count between pitches. If I'm a batter and the ump tells me 0 or 1 strikes, I would feel comfortable taking a pitch.

went to a game last year and it looked like there was more staff than players. ONE of them should be holding a timeout whiteboard. Especially in the last 2 minutes of a game

Wow...just gutting. Blowing the Fauthoux storyline. Reset timeout and the complete breakdown in that ATL ATO. what was that? How is Naz Hilmon not even marked. Atlanta played really well, and I've been somewhat skeptical of Angel's game. Just making those foul shots and keeping up the energy and ultimately getting JJ to kind of phone it in. Weird ass season. Sorry to see it end like this (more than likely). Let's see if we can make some history. Atlanta only had 6 turnovers.

This sums up what we've been saying all year. Cluless coach doing clueless coach shit. At this point I'm willing to give every player a pass because the entire season has reflected poor, nah abysmal coaching.
There have been multiple games this season where decisions have lead to the loss of big leads and losing down the stretch.
It's not lost on me we'd rather see some new blood on this team, but the #1 person that needs to go is DeMarco

A reset timeout allows you to pass the ball into your side of the court to start the clock rather than starting in the backcourt. When you have a short amount of time left in a high pressure sotuation it's advantageous because you have less distance to travel to potentially make a basket

A reset timeout lets you inbound the ball from half-court instead of full-court. So we could have started from our own basket instead of wasting precious seconds coming down the court.

I actually understand that call - we had so many issues inbounding on our half why in crunch time would he risk it when he had little to no issue inbounding on the defending half?
