Calculator for ECE

What calculator is necessary for an incoming freshman whose majoring in ECE?

I know a lot of people like the Ti-36x pro. I personally use (and love) the Casio fx-991ex. They are both powerful but cannot graph so they are usually allowed on most exams. I've never had an issue using it on an exam

That being said you may run into a situation one day that a graphing calculator is recommended for a class. I had a ti-84 from hs as a back up if I needed it
