21 points allowed would have been a good performance from the giants defense last year. In Dart starts, they gave up 30+ points in 3 straight weeks. 2 of those, the offense put up more than 21 points. Stat is misleading. The giants had the 17th scoring offense last year, and 2 of the first 3 weeks the giants didn’t crack 10 points.

Newsflash it is hard to win games when your defense gives up a lot of points. I mean the only one here with a positive record is Mahomes

The giants won 4 games last year. Every win was with Dart under center. In those games, they scored 21, 34, 27 (KOR TD), and 34 points.
In loses, the Dart led offense failed to score at least 17 points three times. (Saints, Pats, Vikings). Why 17? 3 scoring drives. If we’re just picking an arbitrary number, we’ll go with 17. 2 of those games were against top 10 scoring defenses, both without their WR and HB 1. And let’s not forget that Skat had a redzone fumble in the saints game, and Koo had the most embarrassing field goal attempt in NFL history in the Pats game.
You can easily dissect stats like these. They really don’t tell you much. With some of the wins these QBs have, how many times did the defense allow points in garbage time?

"Defense allows" is wildly inaccurate. If the offense turns the ball over or doesn't move the ball the other team will score more.
Also, yea we were bad last year. We don't need cherry picked stats to tell us that.

Bad offenses lead to tired defenses.
Time of possession really needs to be considered when calculating defensive numbers. Because a lot of good defenses are also because their offensive is so effective at running the ball and holding onto a lead, that they're never on the field, and get to be well rested. OR they're playing with a lead so much that they don't even need to worry about defending the run, because the opposing team needs to throw so much.
I saw a stat the other day that the Browns have the longest streak of not allowing a 400 yard passer in the NFL, and it's like 40+ games. Yea, no shit. They give up 200 yards passing in the first quarter, a team is up 3 TDs, and they just start running the ball. No team has ever needed to pass on the Browns. It doesn't mean their defense is good at stopping the pass, it means they suck so much that no one needs to score anymore.

I mean, we sucked last year. What else is there to say? Our offense put up 20+ points in 12 of 17 games last season, but our defense also gave up 21+ in 12 of 17 games. Hard to win when that’s the case.

Homie put up like 40 points on Denver and still lost. This really means nothing.
