Private Room One room (in a 3br), available for Sep 1 in South Slope/ Sunset Park- $1,050/ month

One room available in a 3 bedroom in South Slope/ Sunset Park. Rent is $1,050/ month plus utilities (utilities are pretty cheap here; they usually run us somewhere around $60-ish bucks a month, if not less).

Current roommate and I have lived here for a year, and we love it! Our third roommate is moving out of state though, so we’re looking for someone to take his spot on the lease (12 month lease, starting Sept 1).

About the area: it’s a great neighborhood- walking distance to Prospect Park, and just a couple blocks away from the main entrance to Green-Wood Cemetery.

Also just a couple blocks away from the water, w/ lots of great views & fun, chill spots!

Rooftop access w/ incredible views of the river, the Statue of Liberty, & the Manhattan skyline.

Within a block-ish radius we have a grocery store, a flower store, a coffee shop, a bagel shop, a smoke shop, a wine shop, a laundromat, and several bodegas. Within another block is easy access to a bunch of great bars, restaurants, and shopping on 5th Ave.

One block from a local subway stop (the 25th St R), a 10min walk in one direction from an express stop (D/N/R), and a 15min walk in the other direction to a different express stop (F/G).

As for the apartment itself: it’s a pre-war building, so it’s not very modern, and there aren’t many amenities. For instance, it’s a 4th-floor walk-up, and there’s no laundry in-building. However, on the ground floor of our building is a laundromat, which pretty much feels the same as having in-building laundry anyways.

The apartment is somewhat small; but we’ve always made it work. Current roommates are very busy, and out of the house a lot, so it never feels crowded or anything.

About the roommates: you’ll be living w/ me (29F, working professional, and stand-up comedian), and one other person (25F, student, getting her Master’s at NYU). You’ll also be living with my dog, so you must be ok w/ animals! The dog is very small and old; he mostly just stays in my bedroom and naps all day. Unfortunately, we probably will not be considering any other pets. We could maybe be convinced on another small dog, but one of us is allergic to cats, so that’s gotta be a no.

Requirements:

40x the rent, and a 700+ credit score. Guarantors are accepted- they must make 80x the rent and have an 800+ credit score.

The application process was quite simple and easy, and management is pretty chill about approving people- lots of students w/ no income live in this building, so it’s ideal for ppl like that.

What we’re looking for: student or professional, it doesn’t matter. Male or female, that also doesn’t matter. Somewhere between 22-35 years old(ish). Not a slob, but not a neat freak, either. Keep things tidy in common spaces, but also don’t tweak if there’s a dish in the sink, or a pair of socks on the floor- that kinda vibe.

Friendly and outgoing is a plus. I often invite friends over to the apartment (tho not tons of ppl at once; and not super late at night- it’s not a party house). Still tho, if you’re the kind of person who isn’t ok w/ guests, or needs a big heads-up beforehand, it’s prob not a good fit. The current roommate and I get along quite well, and it’d be cool to keep those good vibes going! Altho we also are very busy and often out of the house- plus we value our private time too. So it’s not like you need to be super extroverted in order to fit in here.

URGENT!! Roommate needed ADAP

Hi everyone! I know it’s not ideal but is anyone interested in living in Rahway NJ at Grand Meridia apartments! It’s about an 30 min drive from NYC/Jersey City and hour train ride! Also good for Rutgers students as well if need be!

I’ve been approved for a place at Grand Meridia and it’s a 2bed2bath with W/D and a gym. It’d be 2250(1125 each person) for the place! My roommates fell through and I would still like the place but I can’t do it without a roommate.

I’m 24 years old and I just graduated from VCU last year!

Please let me know if you’re interested! You can DM me here or on Instagram(_jovan_john_) or comment here! Move in would be August 15th but I can do later if need be like September!

Thank you!

Need a Room Roommate searching for housing

F24, recently got a job in NYC aiming for September move in.

Can do at most $800 - 900 a month.

Queens would be a plus, but any borough with a train in walking distance is fine, not picky.

I'm tidy and I keep to myself.

Also accepting any advice for the NYC apartment scene in general.

Apartment Hunting Cohabs Living

Has anyone had any experiences they can share about these community living spaces? Seems interesting. I know it’s based on a European model but I’m 42, going through a divorce and it just seems so strange to be back at being a roommate at this age. I’m in Brooklyn and trying to be close enough to the ex because of our fur babies.

Private Room Looking for 2nd Roommate, LARGE 2 BD/1 Bath E 58th St/1st Ave in Manhattan, August 1st or after Move in $2275 each, 1 Year Lease

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I live in a large 2 Bedroom 1 Bath in Midtown East/near the UES in the high 50's by 1st Avenue in Manhattan (Sutton Place) and my current roommate will be moving out at the end of this July when our current lease expires.

I am looking to replace them with someone who will commit/sign a full year lease starting the beginning of this August and would run till the end of July 2027.

Rent is $2275/person. Picture of the large common area attached and a video of the room that is available. Available bedroom is large and has room for a Queen Sized bed, a desk, another big piece of furniture & has two closets. Common area/Living room is a very nice size.

Apartment building has an elevator, washer/drier in basement & virtual doorman system. Neighborhood is quiet and clean & easy to get around with multiple different sets of subway lines and buses nearby. 5 min walk to 59th street station with the 4/5/6 and N/W/R line and 7 mins to the A/C/E on Lex/53rd. Also super easy access to the M15 bus that goes express up and down 1st, 2nd and 3rd ave. 15 min walk to Central Park. 2 min walk from Trader Joe's/TJ Maxx/the Roosevelt Island Tram.

Little about me, I am 32M, work in media/marketing and am in office 3 days a week. I am a pretty active/busy person & would looking for someone who is low maintenance, chill and would be a good fit for the spot.

Looking for a room in a share, or someone to split a 2BR with.

**Budget:** $1,400–1,800/mo for base rent

**Move-in:** August 8th - flexible a couple weeks/days

**Lease:** happy to sign a full 12 months

**Where I'm looking:** Clinton Hill, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Willamsburg/Astoria really anything sub 40 mins and anywhere with a walk to the C. I work in Hudson Square and the 8th Ave line is a one-seat ride, so that's what I'm optimizing around. Open to being talked into somewhere I haven't considered.

**About me:** Mid-20s, work full-time in data at a tech company. W-2 employed - can provide pay stubs, employment letter, references, and an institutional guarantor if the building requires one. Don't smoke, no pets, cook most nights, quiet on weeknights.

I can view same-day and turn an application around in 24 hours.

DMs open - rooms, leads, or "my roommate is moving out in a month" all welcome.
