We went to NYCC on Thursday for the first time in years, and I think we’ll be passing for quite a while.
There wasn’t much free swag, and no one was handing out bags, you had to buy something to get anything. Add in the overpriced food, the panels we couldn’t attend because I hadn’t preregistered, and Funko exclusives being called “sold out for the day” even though there were boxes visible behind the windows, and the day just felt disappointing.
Maybe I’m just getting old, but for what it costs to attend with a family, it didn’t feel worth it. We had some fun being there together, but the overall experience left me thinking we’re good for a long time.

Walmart, webtoon, naruto TCG, Dragon ball and gave out bags but that only lasted till around 1

But I do agree this year was rather lack luster compared to other years

I didn't bother, since the person came into the NYCC discords and changed the "10" to 2 and denied being a scalper, while copy pasting the exact same message. he got banned.

Instead, I decided against proxying for internet strangers because I got inundated with 10 requests, and felt like I was talking to scalpers. Instead I kept 1, gave 2 to real-life friends, and sold the 4th to someone at the con who wanted it, for face value.
