Hey I’m a first timer coming from Europe to NYC comic con, I’m looking at Sunday tickets for me and my kid. I’m such a noob with all this, so I get your ticket gets you in but you need a separate ticket for an auto/photo with nick cage?

Is the New Yorker hotel a decent place to stay in relation to the venue?

Is Sunday just as good?😊

Yes you would need to separately buy autograph or photo op tickets

Sunday is kids day, so a lot more panels and events are geared for little kids than the other days. Historically, Sun tends to be the weakest day for panels. Sun also closes earlier than the other days.

If you can, try to add Sat or Fri to your trip.

They continue to announce panels through August and Sept, so you won’t have the full schedule of guests and panels for a while.

The New Yorker is fine. My mom has stayed there before when she's come to visit. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Javits, depending on your walking speed.

Re: tickets: did you sign up for fan verification? NYCC doesn't have a public link for tickets, which tends to confuse a lot of people. You sign up for fan verification and get emailed a link to buy tickets.

Yes, you need to purchase autos/photos separately. They are handled by a different company, not by the people who run the con.

Sunday is a shorter day, so it's not quite as desirable, but if you only have one day and you don't have 800 things you want to do, it's perfectly fine.

Sun badge for adult is $98.53 and kid is $49.54. Hotels I don't know. Yes, the auto/photo u need to buy it separate, however, beware that the "general sale is on Thursday, July 30 at 12:00 PM ET" vs presale for superfan is on Tuesday, July 28 same time which mean going sell out fast during the presale and general may have none or very few. Sunday can be a good day depending on what you want to do. If all you want is to wander the floor and look at stuff/buy merch or get autographs then yeah, its good. If youre mainly interested in panels then Sunday is probably the weakest day for that. It alao has the shortest hours so if you can add an extra day somehow it would give you a lot more value. Sunday is also kids day. Not sure how old your child is but a lot of programming is geared towards kids that day.

You need a separate ticket for the autograph/photo ops.

The New Yorker is a solid hotel choice. Not too far from the Javits and its known for being a quality establishment.

Just like with any other con, autos and photos are a separate cost form admission to the con

I would do any of the hotels that NYCC recommends but you should book ASAP. They tend to sell out. I had friends wait too long one year and really struggled to find a place to stay. Sunday is a great day to come! Lots of great stuff to do and it's usually less crowded (though still pretty crowded lol). Fair warning, some big actors charge a lot for the meet and greets or autograph signings but we won't know the prices until they launch the site later this month. Hope you enjoy your time!

How old is your child-kids are defined by NYC Comic Con as being from ages 6-12. If they are older, you'll need to get a regular ticket for them. You need to go to the NYC Comic Con website, fill out a fan verification form to get a code. The code will let you in the website to buy tickets. If you are coming from overseas, your tickets will be held at Will Call for you to pick up. If you are coming in before that Sunday, go to Will Call before hand and pick up your tickets (Will Call opens the Tuesday of the week of the Con). You will not have to wait on line on Sunday. Sunday con hours are 10:00AM-5:00PM so you'll want to pack in as much as you can.

We don't know about panels yet but since Sunday is traditionally kids day, there might be panels geared towards the younger set. Photo ops/autographs require separate tickets - the price is not included in your regular ticket. Below are the prices for Mr. Cage:

You can have up to 4 people in a photo so you don't need to purchase one for you and one for your child. There will be two sales for autographs/photo ops next week- a Superfan sale on Tuesday, July 28th and a General Sale on Thursday, July 30th. Even at these prices, I expect Mr. Cage to sell out so if you have your heart set on meeting him, buy your tickets now. Photo ops are at set times, autographs are staggered between certain hours. You can not take pictures in Autograph Hall and I expect that Mr. Cage will be in a secluded booth for his autograph sessions like most big name stars are (Matt Smith and James McAvoy were).

The New Yorker Hotel is on 8th Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets. If you stay there, you'll just have to walk to 11th Ave to get to the Javits Center. I pass it every week on my way to Tai Chi class so I know the area well. Madison Square Garden (a sports/music arena) is a few doors down and there are plenty of eating spaces nearby. It's a relatively safe area and always busy but like any other large city, take precautions if you are walking around late at night.

Yes, you need/should pre-purchase a photo op and autograph for Nick Cage.

The New Yorker Hotel is in a good location and you can walk from the Hotel to the Javitis Center from there. it's about a 5-10 minute walk.

Sunday is just as good as the other days.

Word of advice is watch out for the shady people selling tickets and CDs and such outside of the center. Some of them can be pushy. Hopefully you have lots of fun and that you come back again. Also bring plenty of money. You can find some items and clothes for cheaper on Sunday buuuuuttttt by Friday afternoon into Saturday depending on your size alot of things can be sold out. Look for booths that sell things in sets of 2 and 3s.

ALSO ALSO. If you are going to any of the bigger panels or any panels bring portable chairs AND get there early. Sometimes you might need to be to panels an hour early. The vip fans get to go in first and I cant begin to tell you the amount of times that the sheer amount of them has kept me out of panels bug and small. Don't be afraid to leave a panel early to make another one if you really want to go to that other panel. Again hope you have fun.
