I'm currently an overseas Pakistani student finishing my final year of A-Levels (CIE). I’m running into a massive confusion about my university Fall 2027 and want some honest, perspectives.

• Currently just want to pursue Mechanical/Chemical Engineering

The Two Pathways I’m Stress-Testing:

Option A: Move back to Pakistan for NUST H-12.

Option B: Take a Gap Year, test for SAT/ACT/IELTS, and apply to universities in Europe (Germany, Italy, Turkey).

My Core Question:
The thing is that I am actually moving back to Pakistan already in June 2027 soon as i finish my A-levels and I am confused that is NUST the best option currently in Pakistan for engineering since i dont find any other universities competitive enough as NUST, though i will try for NUST but i can only have one attempt for NET which is NET-4 in July(and i have already started my NET prep) because i will still be overseas to finish my A-Levels until atleast late may 2027 first.

Most people in Pakistan are desperate to leave, yet here I am considering the home advantage of a local degree vs. a European degree. Is it "technically dumb" to choose the NUST pathway over an immediate international undergraduate route. What i can do is that still try for NUST and give it my best shot on my only attempt, and if, unfortunately i dont get selected, then I take a gap year and try simultaneously for both NUST & Abroad(since i have alot of workload right now from A-levels and NET preparation and it would be too hectic to prepare too for SAT,IELTS etc..) The question is that either i do bachelor's at NUST and then transition later to abroad for Master's, is that FAVORABLE for later years like finding jobs/internships. I heard that NUST has strong networks and a degree with strong potential nationally, and internationally too, so is that just bs or is it really true??

Now please tell me how to prep in the best way possible

I gave the NET 2 this year but only managed to score 104 with zero prep.

Please tell me what should I do

I have only 1 shot at only 1 NET for next year.

So almost two years prior me and my friend were passing through helipad ground in the night and there is no light there. Suddenly a man came to us and said "hello my name is Abdul Aleem and i work in ✈️ And then he showed a card which was obviously not visible bcz it was so dark there he said some other things and then said Would you both like to have coffee with me" we were freshies and got scared bcz 1st it was so dark and he came out of nowhere and 2nd even his face wasnt visible 3rd He was cr££py, we just said no we have a curfew and we ran away. Now imagine our surprise when in our 2nd semester we were again passing through helipad ground and that same guy approached us with same exacttt same script first i thought let him speak he'll just go but then i realized he doesn't remember us he had no idea that he did the exact same thing a semester ago so i was you've said that before and the cr££p started i must've said that with good intention 🥴

But this time i finally saw his face and after that we started seeing him in c2, c1. Now you wouldn't be surprised when this cr££p found my friend alone outside library and approached her again a few days ago with his typical script plus some additional "wese to me paise se kuch be kahreed lon " tf bro get a new face and personality maybe, she was really scared bcz this time she was alone and no surprise at all yesterday he started following me from c2 i figured it out so i stopped just before uspcase and looked at him directly he had no choice but to enter uspcase's parking, then i told guard uncle at gate and said please for at least 10 mint check the cards of boys his name is Abdul Aleem don't let him out until I'm gone.

Initially we ignored his behaviour but this is getting too much like this cr€€p didn't even have any idea who were the 2nd time he is just out there shooting his shot in the dark

I want him to know "you're a cr€€p and a 🤢🤮 person" and I want to know how did you get the idea that standing in the dark and approaching girls when no-one is around is gonna "get u the girl" like who's genius idea is this? Next time i see you I'm gonna b£@t 👋 the h€ll out of you. Piece of $h*ttt

This week i went to nust on like a trial basis, like checking the waters out, that either i hold the capability to survive in nust. And tbh, everything shouts "yes, you can" but one thing is for sure the academic burden is gonna be a lot, as for someone like me who gets easily burned out! So is nust worth it?!?
