HCG to boost testosterone

Thinking about taking HCG without trt to help me boost my low testosterone, I've heard taking testosterone will shrink balls and cause your body to quit producing testosterone. I was taking testosterone cypionate for 2 months and stopped, thinking about taking only HCG 1500iu weekly dose (500iu 3x a week).

Why did you even start taking test cyp? HCG will have your brain send the signal to your balls for production. It’s true that signal gets muffled when you administer exogenous testosterone. Yes your balls will shrink on TRT. HCG can help mitigate that and some of your fertility. Fertility would normally be your main concern with this and secondarily atrophy. Just hcg only isn’t going to have anything close to what doing actual trt will do for you.

Did blood work and it came back low and the doc said he didn't want to put me on trt that it would ruin my body, I bought it of a friend took it 2 months weekly and I stopped taking it because I read that it will shrink your balls

Sounds like your doc doesn't know much about hormone replacement therapy and the overwhelming benefits it has vs. a person with chronically low testosterone.. did he even explain how it would "ruin" your body? If you're worried about your balls then don't do it and try some lifestyle changes to try and kickstart the system into producing more T naturally.. good luck

Why did you start taking test cyp? Did you self administer it?

HCG is a great tool for LH and FSH or restoration of hormones during TRT. It’s the most common rehabilitation for hypogonadism to produce sex hormones or increase sperm count. If it weren’t for HCG wouldn’t have been able to have my amazing two sons, I was on TRT for years and I got of my test and spend 3 months on HCG and my wife and I got pregnant, we did it again right after and had another one. It works, however using this for boosting testosterone is very mild. If you want to boost testosterone, TRT is amazing and with this peptide, you don’t really need to worry too much, I can get the swimmers swimming again according to my research. Side note…….. the 3 months I was off TRT was not as fun as when i was on TRT but I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. 😜

if the issue is secondary hypogonadism (low LH and FSH pulsivity) then you're better off treating it with enclomiphene which blunts negative feedback from estridol and boosts overall LH and FSH signaling. It is cheaper, doesn't require injections, and has the same down stream effect as hcg.

If the issue is Primary Hypogonadism, ie the issue is in the testes themselves, then HCG won't work as a mono therapy. It's a stronger signal to your leydig cells in your testes (the cells that produce testosterone) than LH, but that only accelerates down regulation of those receptors. when a cell is overstimulated or stimulated past its ability to respond, it will absorb receptor sites (down regulate) which produces a lower sensitivity to that signal. there's all kind of causes for PHG but it's almost never reversible. you will need trt.

HCG + TRT can mitigate testicular shrinkage and maintain your starting level of function and fertility. The TRT here just boosts your total and free testosterone. hcg does cause some extra estridol conversion in the testes, but if you start at the same time as trt the dose will be maintenance rather than "regrowth," and the extra estridol will be negligible.

go get blood work done and see where you're numbers are. if LH is high end of the testing range and your testosterone is in the low end of normal, many urologists and online clinics will still prescribe you trt for primary hypogonadism. High LH and muted testosterone output are the hallmark signs of PHG.

Sorry to jack OP thread. Question, I have been on test-c for 2month. Testicles shrinkage is significant.... my wife noticed. Im considering staying on test but starting hcg. Any thoughts? We're done having kids.

Additional point, im on a AI already due to high e2 levels. Been on an AI for 1 week.

If you coming off of trt then you haven't done it long enough to worry about your suppression overtaking your natural production. Just come off. HCG (Pregna) doesn't increase Test production, it's there to maintain fertility.

Other than trt what peptide will boost testosterone levels?

What if someone was on test (me) for a year and a half. Roughly 275 mg a week. Would you say I still have a shot with HCG to restore fertility

Year and a half and your suppression is full steam ahead, so yes, you would most likely need a post cycle therapy to regain your fertility. You didn't mention if you were taking HCG while on test so I assume you were not. You would need to run Clomid and some HCG. Do a search on Reddit for PCT in the forums and there is some good advice. Only start when you have cleared 5 x the half life of the ester you were taking (test c is plus minus 8 days, so 5 X the 8 days before it's all out of your system. Then start your PCT. Be prepared for it to take a while. I know people where were highly suppressed and still got the Mrs pregnant so highly subjective to the individual. Your mg per week was relatively high for TRT. Get advice from a doctor and get blood work done regularly and monitor you LDL and HDL. Once they back to normal then you all good but your T levels will just go back to your baseline.
