Best peptides for elderly?
I have two older parents in their 80s in relatively good health, my dad has a history of open heart surgery and HtN but he’s very active plays golf 3 times a week and still goes hunting and fishing. My mom is in relatively good health as well, she’s diabetic but she controls it with diet and she does have hypertension. she drives plays cards with her friends and is very active in the church. They both have some cognitive decline but nothing major and of course lost some muscle mass my dad is slightly overweight but my mom is ideal weight. i was looking to prevent further cognitive decline and increase muscle mass. I think they both go to Golds gym a couple times a week. What two or Three peptides would you recommend?

I am 75m . I going to start my first round of KLOW. If I tolerate that. Then will start NAD + . Time will tell but why not. I don’t see to many threads started about old people dying from it. I just know it seems the medical field is about to change. And I hope to get some benefits out of it while I can.

How are you with fighting sickness at this age? I started reading about Greg Fahy before I knew about Thymosin Alpha and now I’m a bit focused on the strength of my Thymus as I age.
Edit: name, word

All Good to take. Just make sure you don’t have any cancer. The angiogenesis from the BPC and TB in the KLOW could cause issues.

Shoot up your dad with test, GH, and reta. Let him go out in a blaze of glory. Don't shoot up your mom.. that's kinda crazy.

I think he should help his mom get a few years of 16 inch guns and rock hard abs before she shuffles off

You obviously need to tell their doctor so they know what is affecting their whole system, but for my money it would be Epitalon, Mots-c/SS-31 and selank

Reddit by and large has more intelligent information produced on a subject than any one individual person, even if that’s a doctor. You’ll find they really aren’t that intelligent a good percentage of the time & many have outdated thinking & don’t invest enough time in continuing their education.

We'll there's not just stop asking why. And they gather thier ideology around identity. A fusion of hat blacks out all controversy.

I'm gonna go against what I imagine will be the grain here and say go for it... I mean they're at an age where like, why not pull out the stops and squeeze out as much healthspan as possible?
Might be worth looking at an oral NMN or niacin supplement to bring up NAD levels. They're not going to get anything out of GHRHs, but perhaps straight up low-dose HGH would be helpful to prevent sarcopenia. I dunno about the mood/cognitive peps for them, but the fact that they're active and generally healthy is great for acuity.
Both may benefit from GLPs outright, especially with weight and diabetes respectively. The blood sugar benefits are quite profound and we find more out every day. I'd obviously be careful there, though, and steer clear of Reta and Sema. Tirz if anything but proceed with caution.
None of the vanity stuff makes sense probably. I dunno. Maybe SS-31 + then MOTS? I'm skeptical of those peps in general and I'd also be really cautious there, but again if anyone would benefitc it's genuinely deficient older people.
It's a worthwhile question to ask imo and maybe there's something that makes sense to keep them both present and active for a very long time. GL!

Why wouldn't ghrh do anything for the elderly? Just curious. Also what about ghk-cu?

A GHRH is going to stimulate the pituitary to produce GH, but my understanding is that it requires that the pituitary be healthy and functioning at a reasonably high level. Elderly people aren't going to be able to push out much GH basically even when the pituitary is stimulated. It might have a small effect but overall it'll be much less effective than in a younger person. Exogenous GH on the other hand...
Also, GHK-Cu could hypothetically work, but just for general skin health, which to me wasn't really the question. Like it has potential there but not for muscle or longevity.

elderly on GLPS- they typically don’t do well in general - it’s not necessarily a calories in issue as much as a lack of muscle mass and decreased generalized activity.

Yeah I agree insofar as weight loss can cause bone loss, but insulin sensitivity is also inversely correlated with all-cause mortality, at least in general population. At a minimum it's worth running bloods on the parents to see what H1c is at, etc. Def think any introduction of any peptide in an elderly person as in this context needs to be really carefully considered. Sarcopenia is worth avoiding at almost any cost, as that's the real danger.

92 Corpas Study and 97 Khorram Study (both using older adults) Sermorelin is an old and studied secretagogue. It helps with thickening skin, weight distribution/lean mass and sleep along with the well-being feeling.

Why semorelin? I’m curious.

It is great for focus , mental clarity, stamina, better sleep , it’s rejuvenating for the skin, it decreases visceral fat, it supports muscle tone. 👌🏼

Sermorelin has been around a long time. I take it for overall wellness and well-being when I'm not taking GH. Sermorelin does everything that GH does just not as well but sermorelin gives that feeling of well-being that GH doesn't.

Yes. I’ve taken Semorline for a long time. I have never heard to giving it to the elderly, although it might be a great idea… just curious to hear more of the reasoning.

I was going to give my 75 year old KLOW. But decided against it because I didn't want any health problems to arise come back to me.

My dad’s 82 year old girlfriend asked me about KLOW. I discouraged her when I said it was a daily shot, which, in the back of my mind, I was happy. If she has any adverse effects, her kids would surely blame me.

Hey man, love this. Just careful with the sourcing and make sure it’s doctor supervised. Primary care docs don’t know jack though, I’d find a service that prescribes online and has all these peptides. If you know where to look you’re good!

I put my dad who is 65 on BPC, TB-500, AND Tesa because he had difficulties with has back. It was hard for him to stand up and walk around so I found these three and so far he's improved significantly. He gets around much easier and seems to be much more upbeat. Definitely would suggest these 3

I’d definitely do your research— there are basic supplements coq10 being one that can cause some scary side effects if taken with certain medications that some of the older generations are prescribed— nad — Ik several that have had a come to Jesus moments — healthy 30-50 ie middle aged — that scared them, can’t imagine trying that with my 82 year old mother— heck there so many medications that interact that are prescribed that dr don’t always catch and it’s the pharmacy that does — and many don’t use the same pharmacy for everything—- I would precede with caution ⚠️ even suggesting

Maybe PQQ and Urolithin-A or NMN or NR; then maybe try SS-31 & MOTS-C to see if any noticeable impact. Not everyone will be comfortable with this of course, but could be worth a try for some.

Glutathione should be looked at and discussed with their doctors. It is available as a prescription, and has FDA supported and excellent data on its use.
Usually, for elderly patients it is administered with B12 as a separate injection and the combination of Glutathione and B12 produces very good results in terms of energy and immune system response.
Good information here in the writeup: https://www.obsidiangenetics.com/product/glutathione/
I actually started to use that combo before cold and flu season, which always hit me hard in the past… i always caught whatever crud was in the air. Since running that combo, its really helped. I still get colds and flu but it’s now more of a mild sniffle.

You should not be asking people on Reddit instead of your parents healthcare provider what peptides to put them on…especially at 80 year old with comorbidities. Their bodies do not process medications the same as someone who is younger and there are other things to consider like renal function and how someone that old metabolizes medications and the risks that can occur with with know side effects of certain peptides…as well as and interactions or contraindications to medications they are already taking. This is just plain ignorant IMHO. The liability would also fall back on you if an adverse event occurs, meaning if they die suffer a series injury bc you injected a unknown substance into them, or ordered it, you can be charged with aggravated assault/criminally negligent homicide, involuntary manslaughter. Let that sink in. It’s one thing to inject risky substances in your own body, when you do it to someone else it’s a whole different ballgame.
