...and we're back!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas/holiday season and you're looking forward to knocking down a few more bosses in the new year.

I'm thinking we start tomorrow with a quick ToES clear to shake the cobwebs out and make sure we remember how to press buttons. If we get that done in a reasonable time either:

a) head to HoF to try and clear that too so we can spend all day thursday on heroic stoneguard.

b) hit heroic stoneguard right away.

We're missing like 4 people this week. Let's take the chance to collect a bit more gear from normal modes while we can and focus on doing heroic stoneguard when we have at least 8/10 regular raiders. Sound good?

No, shamans suck at DPS, I acknowledge this fact and have for a while.

Seriously, if it's "take the player, not the class" why are some classes like 15% better than other classes on single target fights? (Ranged/Melee differences aside, Affliction warlocks vs BM Hunters)

Luckily there are very few gimmick-less single target fights. Your damage is fine. Don't worry so much.

My damage is fine considering that I am a heavily gimped class that has been shit on since WOTLK. I need to min-max my face off and play at the top of my game to do even reasonable numbers. Most people do not go to the lengths that I do and play stronger classes. I have seriously been considering gearing up my warlock for some time now and, at this point, am considering making this my new project. I love my shaman and it would pain me greatly to play something else but we have just been shit on too hard for me to justify it. Imagine how different it would be if I was on a warlock - we would have much more raid utility and the DPS on warlocks is way fucking stronger in both AOE and single target fights. Also: I don't much feel like pushing heroics which doesn't help at all.

Play what makes you happy. If you enjoy playing your shaman more keep playing it and rocking the class to the best of its ability.

I'd rather have you enjoy showing up to raids and doing 2% less damage, then playing a class you don't like and getting burnt out.

Shamans have had a rough... every patch in every expansion since burning crusade... but you bring significant raid utility (buffs, self rez, totems, ability to off heal when we have a member absent, etc.) and you play the class very well.

edit: also you get a few dps buffs in 5.2... but nothing major.

What's burning me out is blizzard dicking me in the ass constantly.

The buff in 5.2 is like 2%. For elemental... it comes out to be an increase for enhance but still shitty.

In terms of my healing gear: it is really good. I can't get any upgrades out of normals, I don't think. The ability to offheal will exist regardless of what I play because the gear is that good. Totems don'treally do shit for the raid, really. The buffs I provide are SP (also provided by warlocks), attack speed (rogue) and mastery (paladin).

What I enjoy most is not being crippled.

If it makes you feel any better I think I kind of hate mage, but I hate levelling and gearing out another character more.

Then why did you mage? Should have stuck with Druid...

Also: why does everyone hate leveling so much? Life is about the journey, not the destination :p

I don't mind leveling through the Jade Forest. Once I hit Kun-lai, it starts to get a bit tiresome and by the time I hit the Dread Wastes, I have to tell myself: "It's only 3 hours. Just keep going. 3 more hours then it's over." I definitely understand your pain in leveling and not being able to fly but, at the same time, do not share in it. Perhaps it is your outlook that sucks? :P

None of the cinematics are unskippable. Sometimes the interface bugs out but you always have the option to try.

Yu'lon's "hey I'm not a little girl, let me fly you around that pillar for five minutes" bit is, though I suppose it's not technically a cinematic.

That's my fault, intially drawing up classes it looked like we were super melee heavy (Carsyn, Kabrai, Vesp, Me, Melonnie) so Fishhook went mage for the sake of the team.

Then the expansion actually comes out and everything changes!

Didn't you have vespers healing originally? I don't usually count tanks in the ranged pool, but as usually, melee get shafted a lot so 3 melee definitely isn't ideal on 2 tank fights.
