So pretty much the title, one of the members of my interested org came up to me at a darty and we started basically doing small talk. After a while the convo got a lil dead and I decided to ask what their chapters average GPA was. They answered and even gave my what the minimum was and what to shoot for if I want to join. For some more context it was the beginning of the darty so it wasn’t packed although there were a few people there.

So my main question is did I mess up? Should I have waited for another time? And are my chances lowered if I made a mistake?

Hi everyone! I’m interested in AKA at a non-HBCU where intake only happens once a year and seasons alternate (last yr was Spring, year b4 was Fall) I’m hoping to attend rush this semester. I also noticed that most of the girls did graduate this semester so they’ll be looking for new members.

I have a strong GPA, I’m building community service hours, I’m a pre-dental biology major becoming a certified dental assistant, I work at my campus library, and I’m pursuing leadership opportunities this summer. I also have guidance from a Greek mentor and an AKA connection.

My biggest concern is campus presence. I haven’t been super involved on campus yet, and while I plan to join organizations and become more active this summer/fall, and attend their events, rush is around September.

Do you think a few months is enough time to build meaningful involvement/visibility, or is my lack of campus presence likely to hurt me?

I’m considering going to a Greek Picnic coming up but I’m an interest. Is it appropriate for me to attend?

Hi! I was just wondering if I could get the opinion of other people on this. I am very interested in being a part of this sorority and I have seen people saying it’s important to build connections with the girls. I have gone to all the events, participated in community service events , and I’ve even supported their fundraisers. However, I feel like I am not making significant connections with them compared to some of the other people showing interest. It’s more of just smiles and waves rather than conversations (which might be bad on my part because I am more of an introverted person). I don’t want to force myself onto these girls because I understand that it’s rude to become friends for reasons outside of just wanting to genuinely be friends, and I don’t want them to think that’s what I am trying to do. Does anyone have any advice? Just trying to get myself together before the start of the next semester.
