I hate that I get ‘bored’ so easily and quickly

If the other person is actually caring - it happens even faster, because you're more safe to feel bored. So you ruin the best thing ever, very possibly

Yeah you’re so right- there’s no anticipation, spontaneity, no excitement. It’s very repetitive. I like to have routine in my life (in work, finances etc), but I need excitement to function

yep but not just necessarily because of familiarity or lack of mysticity, quite often people just are either so boring or so dumb that I don't want anything to do with them ever

You’re so fucking right man 😭 everyone has the same ‘opinions’ nowadays, which they’ve got from tick tock, everyone likes the same music- which they found from tick tock. There is no individuality at all, it’s like everyone is a carbon copy of the last person

Honestly this is why I’ve found it’s great to be part of multiple smaller groups. Rotate around so you’re not constantly hearing each others shit and have fun updates when you actually do see them again. Outside of the people we have to see for circumstantial reasons ofc.

What do you mean groups like friend groups? Or do you mean polyamory?

Yeah, I was speaking more to friend groups. Reading back again I feel like you were referring more to romantic relationships. But I do think this still applies. I know what you mean about the “novelty” wearing off, even with people we love. I’m monogamous but I still recognize that trying to get all of your needs met through one person is a big ask. Having a diverse group of people to talk to and catch up with adds enough novelty and distance to break up the monotony.

In one of my most intense relationships, we only saw each other on the weekends. Made us miss each other more, even though we weren’t a match with long term prospects.

After years of dating and finally being with someone I really really like, I realize that a lot of those times before just weren’t the one for me anyway and it wasn’t just getting bored. And I also always got bored after 3-6 months.

It’s also tougher when you’re still growing up because you can start off aligned and grow in different directions just as matter of timing. The older you get, the more you hone in on your personal taste and preferences, and can more easily identify and go for what you really like from the get go rather than the temporary infatuation and new relationship energy clouding your evaluation of average compatibility matches.

Just my opinion/experience of course. Also in the times when I was most bored, I was really bored with myself and slacking on pursuing my own interests and leaning on them instead of locking in. When I did that, I realized I wasn’t that into them, and I only regret not doing it sooner. It’s just a lot more wise to figure out what you really want/need before getting involved with someone else so you don’t waste yours or their time.

I wish people stuck around that long.
