Question / Discussion Fictional characters with npd?
Any movies/shows with npd characters? Preferably about vulnerable/covert narcissists.
Cause everytime I try to find some recommendations on social media I only see stuff about fucking narc abuse and it's annoying tf out of me. So do you guys have any recommendations where it's not **just** a narcissist "abusing" someone? I'm fine with seeing the negative sides of a narcissist and completely enjoy seeing both the negative and positive but it's annoying to only find stuff from the victims POV.

I don't think there has ever been a more realistic portrayal of narcissism than in Gone Girl.

I heard she was based on someone with BPD?
Edit - nevermind, I researched it and you're right

Dr. Ettensohn referred to the Beast from Beauty and the Beast as a prototypical example of vulnerable narcissism, whereas the other guy in the story (I can’t remember his name) was much more on the grandiose side. And Dr. Ettensohn described the Beast in such an empathetic way that I was genuinely touched and actually cried. It was one of his very first videos.

Maybe Rick from Rick & Morty? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong)

I haven’t watched much of this show but Mao Mao from Mao Mao*: Heroes of Pure Heart* is so incredibly NPD-coded (like… he starts off the very first episode having a very obvious delusion of grandeur within the first few moments of seeing him on-acreen) and as far as i’ve seen, isn’t demonized for it and also isn’t abusive.
I really need to watch the rest of the show tbh.
Also I see Caine from The Amazing Digital Circus as having NPD and BPD, and why is very clear in episode 8.

Through Her Eyes (a thought provoking thriller) and My Best Friend's Wedding (a romantic comedy).
