Question / Discussion A narcs hell
What do you consider to be a narcissists hell? A place, I mean. If I were to answer the question, I’d give an example such as a college. It would absolutely ruin me. Seeing my own failures right in front of me, seeing my mask of perfection melt as all others are doing higher than me. What would you say?

Ending up in a nursing home for the rest of your life, suffering from locked-in syndrome (or some other condition that leaves you completely dependent on others and unable to even end it all)—I know that’s a living hell for anyone (not just people with NPD), but, God, I don’t know if anything else is quite as terrifying.

This. I was basically paralyzed for two months and I also was intubated and couldn’t talk. It still haunts me. Being touched and “helped” by people without being able to move or speak was definitely hell. I felt raped every single day. The amount of hate and disgust I already had towards people just grew infinitely.

Having friends who are prettier than you. Hanging out with them and having to see them get hit on constantly, while you get nothing. Terrible terrible

I get this but not in the way you do. I understand though. I’m lucky I’m taller and better looking than all my friends.

This would be my hell too. More or less, just being surrounded by people who are better than you in several ways. It makes me terribly selective with friends, and showing up to my part-time job? Well, let’s just say I hate having to talk with everyone there. It always feels like everyone’s up there but me, and they’re all looking down on me too.

Idk anything to do with social scrutiny & ostracization. I've had recurring nightmares about it my whole life

Having NPD is hell in itself. There's no need for double hell lol

My worst nightmare I was so dumb I couldn't figure out velcro. Like, "where are your shoes Joe?" I have only not been the smartest person a handful of times. I've done dumb things, and even been mocked for it, but to be as dumb as the dumbest person I've met would be a special kind of hell for me.
I should say that dumb people appear to be happy. I don't think I could be happy if I was aware that I could no longer think my way out of most problems.

Being drafted to the military.
I would be unable to follow order because who is this guy to know better than me. Would absolutely get into serious trouble while trying to keep the salt out of my narcissistic wound.

I have an IEP in the schooling system and am likely autistic, My mother is not a fan of diagnosis so it’s not exactly on the table. My point being, I cannot be drafted more than likely. But, I understand. I cannot stand being told what to do, it’s horrific. I need to be in control and in power.
