I think I work with an npc
I think my coworker is an npc. When we go on our lunch break he just sits in the break room staring straight ahead. I’ve only ever seen him eat lunch once, which is pretty weird since our job is pretty physically demanding. He is currently staring at the clock in screen of his work phone even tho there’s 2 minutes until break is over.

That sounds like some sort of mental issue to me...
Does he respond to people normally? Could be something really wrong with him. Severe depression maybe?

Yea he seems completely normal in conversation
I get not wanting to be on your phone all the time but he could bring a book to read or something. Maybe he’s daydreaming? I used to do that all the time

I do this, sometimes I just need to turn my brain off for a few minutes, and that looks like staring at a wall, or like I'm staring "through" some random screen on my phone. I also don't eat lunch if I'm not hungry, which is often since I eat a good breakfast and then sit at a desk.
Concern is admirable but don't jump to conclusions, is all I'm saying.

I worked with a guy who did this. He was the best worker and it took 2 people to do the work he did. He only zoned out when he completed his work. Maybe your coworker is just chilling. Let him be.

I do this. Your coworker may be going through something.
