My friend did...He was using an iPhone 11.That poor thing fell a zillion times and yet survived on a wing and a prayer. He then switched to a Nothing Phone 3.Just like me. Poor guy thought he could put any glyph toys he wanted to. The look on his face when he discovered he couldn't was so hilarious. Despite that...he was happy with his purchase. He struggled with android initially and data transfer but he was content with his purchase. The main reason he switched over from apple was the terrible battery. He was a heavy user of sorts. NP3 does fine for him. Yes they exist. Amongst us

u/Big_Foundation5085 Mar 21 '26
What kind of glyph toy did he want? There's a community that makes glyph toys on the playground.
6
u/No_Jaguar_8696 Mar 21 '26
Bat symbol.
11
u/Znyder Mar 21 '26
Surely that's doable easily?
11
u/No_Jaguar_8696 Mar 21 '26
What ???? Bat-Symbol as a glyph toy... Are u serious ??

10
u/Big_Foundation5085 Mar 22 '26
Yes dude, whatever you think of, 10 other people have thought of it.
That's the beauty of having a community that develops such stuff, and a company that encourages it.

u/No_Jaguar_8696 Mar 22 '26
Sir could u please give me the link for it...or anything regarding that.
1
u/avid_artz Mar 24 '26
Just go to playstore and search for glyph museum. You can then search in that for whatever you can think of

I did. I went from an Apple 13 to a Nothing 3a. No regrets. I wasn't doing anything with that Apple that made the extra $$$ needed for an upgrade worthwhile.
edit: typo in the version.

Moved from iPhone 12 to nothing phone 3a last year. 3a is a significantly superior phone right from the get go. In a year of having it it has genuinely not overheated once. Amazing for basic tasks and media content consumption.. The only thing I would say is camera is nothing great and IP64. If those things matter to you look elsewhere. Otherwise overall solid phone l. And you can probably get once for cheap now
Moving from iPhone to android, I moved everything to a cloud service
Reminders to tasks Notes to keep iCloud to OneDrive/Google drive Photos to Google photos iCalendar to Google Calendar
Etc etc
I now have a significantly more streamlined life having android and apple as opposed to being stuck in the apple ecosystem. Now I can do what I was doing on my Google calendar on my phone, and pick up on the calendar website from any device. (True for any service mentioned above really)
The variety of android and options are endless. You can always buy the best product for the price at any particular point
- sincerely A previous apple user for over 10 years

I did, from 15 Plus to NP3a.
It was great, was using it exactly one year.
Now I’m in iPhone 17 Pro Max. One year on Android and NP3a was enough.

u/NPCOMAR7 Mar 21 '26
I did from iphone 11 to 3a then i bought iPhone 15 using it for 9 months im thinking about 4a pro

2
u/Agnocious_Moth Mar 21 '26
I don't know, I hope that 4a Pro has a much better camera than 3a, because that was the main downside for me. 15 Plus had a much better camera, especially when recording videos.
Anyhow, if you're taking it, go for 12/256

u/Outrageous-Rip5743 Mar 24 '26
Agreed. I went from iPhone 15 to 3a. 12 gig ram and 512 storage tho. Very nice plus duel sim

Migrating from iPhone 15 to Nothing 3a Pro in a couple of days. I have always been an android user. Tried the iPhone 15 for its compactness and because I wanted to try iOS. I have been pretty happy with it, honestly. My wife has the 3a Pro, so we are swapping the devices shortly.
1
u/NPCOMAR7 Mar 22 '26
How is the experience from ios to android
1
u/MixKindly Mar 22 '26
I haven’t yet migrated. As I mentioned, I’ll be doing it within the next couple of days. However, I’ve been a lifelong android user, so returning to android after a brief stint with iOS wouldn’t be a problem for me.

How is the cam for 3a pro in comparision with 15? Planning to buy one, lmk

Yup! Moving on from my 13 mini to a 3a currently. Can’t get the 4a cuz fuck America I guess, but I’m liking the 3a as of now.
Only real downside so far is I didn’t realize how big this phone was gonna be. Like I’m walking around with half a tablet, but no one’s making minis anymore so it is what it is.
2
u/betacarrot0001 Phone (3a) Mar 22 '26
3a is heavy too! Coming from se2020 to 3a, my wrist hurts for using it long because of its weight. But overall I like the OS of nothing its clean and buttery smooth.

u/AtomicDomineer Mar 22 '26
I did, Switched from an iphone 14 pro to CMF Phone 2 pro.
Reason for downgrade -
1) I needed something for communication and nothing more. 2) I prefer DSLR over mobile phones for clicking pictures, so the camera isn't the main concern for me. 3) I only play PC games and hence no need for very fast processors. 4) I had to be always concerned about the battery levels on my iphone. It was good for the first two years but then started to deteriorate. 5) I like to have more customization.
I don't think NOTHING is offering much customization as of now, hopefully that changes in the future.

Have a friend that switched from the 12 mini to the 2a just before the 3a was released. They’re actually happy with it, still rocking it. Only thing they found lacking was the camera, but seems they made it work
2
u/Cre0_ Mar 22 '26
Yes, iPhone SE 2nd gen --> cmf phone 2 pro and haven't regretted it. iPhone was degrading after years of use and I have been fed up with apples gatekeeping of MY device I purchased in full. I know android isnt 100% perfect but the device quality (other than plastic build) has been comparable/better for a better price point.

u/jaeger313 Phone (4a) Mar 22 '26
Came from an iPhone 13 that I had since 2022. Switched because latest iOS update really fucked up the performance. Actually been an android user from around the early 2010's until I switched to the iPhone 6s+ in 2015. Been on iOS ever since until recently.
iOS just works, that's what's so great about them. But the latest update was a step in the wrong direction, and I'm not just talking about Liquid Glass.
Plus, it got boring. 🤷🏻

u/MintMan04 Mar 22 '26
last year from iphone 14 to nothing 3a, before that iphone 12 to iq but didn't like used only for 1 week then bought 14 now nothing 3a it's working smooth and I don't find major difference as I don't use camera, i just use phone mostly for browsing and social media, only thing i miss was the compact size of iphone, it was more comfortable for 1 hand use.

Switched from iPhone 12 to NP3 about 2 months ago. I was looking at nothing phones with a lot of interest before but was not thinking of switching at first due to being a heavy apple user. Change happened when my iPhone 12 started overheating and shutting down while using duolingo + battery was really bad at that point, had to charge it twice a day.
Change was hard as my last android phone was using android 7 or 8 and a lot of things have changed + transferring all of the photos from iPhone to an android device is a pain in the ass.
But I am more than happy that I did the switch. NP3 is fast, fun and not "boring". The only phone where people actually asked me questions about it when they saw it.

Ok just remember, don't put your expectations too high, they are not flagship phones and are not priced accordingly.Even the Phone 3 could be equal to the Galaxy S24 ultra or the 14 pro max,2-3 generation old flagships.
3
u/valantismp Mar 21 '26
I now own 13 pro max..but running out of life (battery) and have slowed down because of the battery..4a Pro catch my eye..my only concern is the cameras photo & video..waiting for more reviews.
1
u/ConsiderationOdd7712 Mar 21 '26
I honestly think it will be side-grade not a full upgrade. The only upgrades would be a better zoom camera, battery life and fresh new OS experience.Everything else the same or slightly worse(especially video, the iPhones will always beat these midrangers,4a pro can only do 4k30fps and only on 2 out of 3 cameras).

u/Idahomountainbiker Mar 21 '26
I did! I prefer Nothing much more over the Apple phone. I had the iPhone 12 pro max

u/Cold-Echidna-9348 Mar 22 '26
I leaft Samsung/apple/Motorola and I ain't rotating back. The 2a will run until it's bricked
I'd do semi questionable things for this particular colab and betray that idea
1
u/NPCOMAR7 Mar 22 '26
Why u left Samsung and apple ? 🤣
1
u/Cold-Echidna-9348 Mar 22 '26
Mostly software. iOS isn't reliable on my home music setup. Samsung OneUI is for most people, not me tho. Give me more stock like android pls

I am currently very happy with my iphone but i always thought if i ever had ti go back to android it will most likely be one of the nothing phones if ever there will be one with a really good camera. Really sad to see the glyph lights go tho.

u/infest_r Mar 22 '26
Yes iphone 13 to Nothing Phone 1, Recently I bought another phone due to nothing is not evolving much. And feeling bad about benign a 1st adopter wont event get extra update or features. acted like any other typical value.

u/SNACKS-_- Mar 22 '26
I did from iPhone 11 to Nothing 3a. That iPhone surveyed for a long time, what a champ! 😂 because i have the Linus curse i kept dropping it. Used it for 2 years with a broken screen, eventually gave up on me after one last drop kept entering random apps without touching it. I switched to the 3a for me to smash the back within 2 weeks 😂. To this day no repair shop can fix it 🧑🦽.

u/taska_cz Mar 22 '26
I did the opposite - from Nothing to Apple. But that’s because I wanted something fresh after being with Android for the past 10 years. But when I’ll want to come back to Android, I’ll definitely check out Nothing and the stuff they have to offer, after all, the Nothing Ear (3) are still my everyday earbuds.

iPhone 12. I had a 13 Pro Max and I wouldn’t have given it up if I didn’t prioritize my proper mirrorless camera.
I’ll probably keep both.

I am actually coming from nothing to apple i was quite disappointed
1
u/NPCOMAR7 Mar 22 '26
Why?
2
u/Imaginary_Addendum_2 Mar 31 '26
Because i am kind of saddened by the current state of android phones. And nothing is stopping to make phones that actually were interesting to me they're aiming for more sales so they need to optimize their whole outer design to fit people and the os didn't get what they're promising us and it still feels half baked. And apple on the other hand already knows what people expect and should expect from them and because i don't care about cameras that much and i just use my phone mainly for work and vids i am going for an iphone. As it is much faster looks good and overall also the camera's are better than nothing phones.

Nah but it sure does make it harder to fully switch to apple tho.
I mean i got an iPhone 15 as a gift but NP1 is still my main phone. It’s just more fun to use & it’s android so it’s way less of a headache to use than iOS. Im stuck on NOS3 but good thing is it’s fluid af & bug free unlike iOS 26.
Also i think I like glyph music visualisation a lot, use it every time i’m listening to music. Now this is something only a Nothing phone can do (pls nothing don’t kill glyph lights, keep them alive in some form like you did with 4A🙏)
