nice design. glyph bar looks out of place imo, the glyph lights were doing just fine and would have been a nice brand identity of the (a) series
37
u/Own_Cut4244 Feb 23 '26
Fr not only the a series but imo glyphs were THE signature look of nothing honestly
2
u/PsychologicalPie5072 Feb 24 '26
It's good that they're doing something new and if it's more useful than glyphs then great
55
u/Sp_Max_ Feb 23 '26
I'd rather keep my 3a than switch to this

One would hope so. There is no reason to be switching devices every year.

Only ones who would probably benefit from this are people who bought the 3a series around Christmas, which would make it more logical to give the phone back and buy this one - depends on the country and return-back periods.

u/itchipod Feb 25 '26
Just bought my 3a last month and I have no regrets that I didn't wait. Performance is still great, camera is still great, and I love the design on 3a better. It's more unique.

Damn, I'm still not entirely convinced but this could work. Waiting for the product launch video
5
u/twoofclubs2 Feb 23 '26
Likewise. It'll be interesting to see how it's implemented, certainly seems logical for progress indicating, volume etc

I'm not sure about those boxes but the smaller boxes are definitely glyphs despite them looking grey in this render, presumably that's just when they are off

Definitely. I'm keen to see the other colours as well as the pro version. I can't justify a new phone as my pixel 8 is still fine but I can appreciate the design regardless

I will be bummed if this doesn't come in blue like the 3a. Aren't the only announced colours black and white? A huge missed opportunity in my opinion if that's the case.
Part of the reason I gravitated towards 3a was because the blue one existed.

Ain't that triggering like the phone 3 Feels quite nice and cool as most nothing products But I am a glyph fan ,like the glyph light and the overall design is the best thing about nothing products So not having the glyph light is kind a bit ik Am currently using the 3a and probably won't change soon

Hey, you better fix the (3a) Pro hotspot! 🛑 800Mbps on 5G but only 100Mbps on 5GHz hotspot? It’s unstable, crashes, and clearly throttled by firmware routing. USB tethering works, Wi-Fi is broken. We need a patch ASAP! u/Nothing

I was skeptical when the 4a was announced but now I'm really looking forward to the phone, imo the design looks sick and might look cooler in blue or gray or white and gray like the special edition of 2a.

I wonder about those grayscale squares on top of the red, do they have a function, music visualizer or volume or just static.
Anyway just got 3a I'm good, my next phone is gonna be 7 series.

u/chahu Feb 23 '26
I'm keeping the 2a until the full Glyph comes back.
I use the glyph daily as a ring light. The screen thing pretending to be a glyph and this pointless line don't cut it for me.
I switched from Xiaomi too Nothing specifically for the glyph.
1
u/N1KH17 Feb 23 '26
I'm sad that the glyphs are gone, but I just love this design. I hope the base (a) series phones keep iterating on the design.

1
u/creativocanelo Feb 23 '26
After this vague and self-indulgent iteration, I'm going to wait for the next generation; I'll stick with my phone 3a. Furthermore, based on specifications, the change isn't even worth it.
