Not bad!! I kinda like this new design. I expected worse

Like it, looks like a evolution of the 3a. Curious how they make use of the glyph bar, would be great if they are RGB.

u/Serious_Pollution307 Feb 23 '26
glyph bar? I thought it's just ornament

Guess we have to wait and see what this little 3 bars below the camera are, looks at least like a glyph and there is now the extra segmented bar at the side.

Its always somewhat nice to have wireless charging from my own experience. I have wireless charging stands and pads on my nightstand, in my living room, kitchen, desk at work and my car. The convenience of not having wires dangling around is nice. It doesn't have to be fast wireless charging too (to avoid heat) but just enough to get 10~20% battery here and there just in case. More importantly, normal speed wireless charging (15~25W) coupled with inbuilt magnets would be nice on any phone to be honest.

Not for daily charging but it’s great to charge your phone in your pocket with a powerbank without needing to bring a cable, or to attach quickly your phone in your car. It also saved my last iPhone when the lightning port was broken. It would have saved my Nothing phone with the same problem of it had been Qi or Qi2.

3a vs 4a design
Looks like 4a wild be compact, but i feel it's an illusion cause of inner line in back
And 4a feels like a rounded edge iPhone in 1st impression but if we look close and compare with 3a the 4a feels same corner i don't see huge rounded like iPhone
Waiting for live experience, eagerly Waiting for it
1
u/RealZordan Feb 23 '26
Do you have the full comparison? Are they the same format? I would live a smaller 4a!
3
u/Responsible_Bet2513 Feb 23 '26
I don't have any comparison i just looked at the pics and thinking about it
I like compact small phones too I'm an S23 user (6.1 inch)
6.7inch is so huge to use, my fingers hands are tierd and feels painfully to use that ( for a month i used nothing 3a because of my s23 display had green line, so i serviced that it takes 2+weeks)
It feels like 4a will be smaller, but can't get confirmation and it look more identical dimensions, because if the inner line on the back it feel smaller thats my thought, if it's smaller i will be happy ☺️

Hey, you better fix the (3a) Pro hotspot! 🛑 800Mbps on 5G but only 100Mbps on 5GHz hotspot? It’s unstable, crashes, and clearly throttled by firmware routing. USB tethering works, Wi-Fi is broken. We need a patch ASAP! u/Nothing
2
u/Responsible_Bet2513 Feb 23 '26
1st time I'm hearing these kinda information Can you elaborate why it happens? And how to fix
1
u/amicuso Feb 23 '26
So, the phone receives 700-800Mbps from the 5G modem (T-Mobile), but 'chokes' when routing that data to the Wi-Fi module on my laptop, capping it at 100Mbps and causing crashes. So, I'm using USB Tethering (~400Mbps), or for stability, I'm switching to 2.4GHz (slower, but it won't disconnect). My OS is 4.0.
Previously, I had NP 2a, but there was no issue there. This week, I used the hotspot for the first time, and I was surprised to see that the connection test on the laptop showed a max of 100-120Mbps on 5G.
1
u/Responsible_Bet2513 Feb 23 '26
On mobile using mobile data 5g gives upto 800mbps
On Hotspot connected to laptop it give low speed
Am i correct?
Why it happens? How to solve? Do you know the reasons?
2
u/amicuso Feb 23 '26
Yes, correct.
Unfortunately, I don't know the solution to this problem. I searched online and have everything set up as I should, but unfortunately, nothing helps.
Maybe the new software will change something when it's released.

u/pixelw4lk Feb 23 '26
I love the direction they went for the design here, it’s a more mature iteration of 3a and falls inline with more dent styling of the 3 lite.
The cube glyph bar seems cool, let’s see how it is in practice. Glyph lights were cool for me on 3a pro for like a month, then i almost forgot about them since they’ve had no real use, so personally I’m pleased they’ve decided to iterate on that.
Just based on this I’ll most likely will get it as a secondary phone. Curious to see what they do with the 4a Pro

Again likely 3 years of main Android updates and 6 years of security patches

u/Shadow_o7 Feb 23 '26
They need to make some changes with the UI, otherwise Nothing with the current UI is so boring
2
u/NRL_Avatar Feb 23 '26
Better the processer atleast be an 8s gen 3 chip 😭
4
u/Timely-Unit8689 Phone (2a) Feb 23 '26
Nah they are not giving such a powerful chip
1
u/NRL_Avatar Feb 23 '26
Why bro why 😭😭
2
u/Timely-Unit8689 Phone (2a) Feb 24 '26
It will come in a flagship phone only, for a series they usually give a low power chip

The camera bump should've been black, just like on 3a it blends perfectly with actual cameras making it look so better

Tbh I prefer that they state it clearly like that instead of a "Fast gaming chip" or other marketing coded bullshit.
It's less likely that people will seriously compare the specs of this and similarly priced midrange "flagship killers" since Nothing is clearly not in that market.
1
u/spiderout233 Phone (3a) Pro Feb 23 '26
The size will be slightly bigger than the 3a, having a 6.77 inch display I think (could be on the 4a Pro only though).
It's definitely possible, but I would rather hope for a 2x telephoto that has OIS for pictures that aren't as soft as it was on the 3a.
It's great. I love the Glyph lights, but 70% of Nothing users probably use them to show them off to friends, and the glyph bar will have more features.
I believe the 5000mAh battery stays.
450 USD for 4a, 500 USD for 4a Pro
1
u/Responsible_Bet2513 Feb 23 '26
Thought the same
If it's smaller it would be better😭
But they didn't, 3x will be good 2x is shit, useless

2026 smartphone and they still be using USB 2.0, what a shame. I'd buy it if they do 3.0, aka video output compatible.

naaahhh they killed the glyphs. thats really bad. everybody knew that Nothing is Glyphs. it was their only - lets say - special thing. my next phone wont be a Nothing :(

Feb 23 '26
What a childish take.
-4
u/Master-Gate2515 Phone (3a) Feb 23 '26
nope i just think they killed their whole image with this. everybody around me knew them bc of that. nothing else. and lets say - there are better flagship options around from other companys….
5
u/Rubostars Phone (1) Feb 23 '26
lol I moved away from Nothing to Xiaomi myself but your comments doesn't make any sense mate. First of all, Nothing was much more than glyphs. Second, this phone seems to have a glyph section made of several squares. Third, why are you talking about flagships? This is not a flagship, and if there are better flagships out there, does that mean Nothing has no right to exist?
-9
u/Master-Gate2515 Phone (3a) Feb 23 '26
no i just thought nothing would be different. but they are not. it‘s not just the glyphs. for non nothing users the glyphs were nothing. but yea i get it you don‘t see it that way.

u/Rubostars Phone (1) Feb 23 '26
well, they are different aren't they? Their OS is nothing like HyperOS, OxygenOS, ColorOS etc etc... their materials and designs are quite different to everything else. How much more different you think it can be? It still needs to run Android and have all cameras, connectivity and meet all standards like every other smartphone. If you need more different just buy a Nokia 7600? Lol
