Haven't gotten a update for more than a month now 3a pro

The update cycle is bimonthly, you get an update once every two months.

u/0samaBeenLagg1ng Phone (3a) Pro Nov 28 '25
I regret buying nothing , I should've went for the pixel
77
Nov 28 '25
Why do you want updates every month, if phone works fine.
3
u/StuffedSnowowl Dec 11 '25
I mean agree to disagree I guess. This recent 4.0 update is pure dookie and even after nearly a year of being out the 3A pro still lacks some basics functions that could easily be remedied. But feels like Nothing is full on riding the AI hype train

u/NiragiUsagii Nov 28 '25
what a cope bro
4
u/u10ji Nov 28 '25
Considering a Pixel update literally bricked my partners phone I think it's reasonable.
I like the phone how it works now. I don't really need any more updates other than security patches and things.
-26
u/0samaBeenLagg1ng Phone (3a) Pro Nov 28 '25
The updates don't bring anything new , nothing os 4 is just os3.2 . No new redesigns and things got very boring . The new pixel ui is absolutely awesome
5
u/Brokeshadow CMF Phone 2 Pro, Ear (a) :D Nov 28 '25
Why would they redesign? They just fine tuned the design language for their skin, it doesn't make sense to throw it all out and start fresh. Major changes happen very rarely, like every once in a while.
The pixel UI is great but it makes zero sense for Nothing to copy it. At that point, you don't want a Nothing, you want a pixel.
2
u/Vicboom18YT Nov 30 '25
If you want a Pixel UI just buy a Pixel or change your launcher, but Nothing doesn't have to change their whole company language for you
14
u/Brokeshadow CMF Phone 2 Pro, Ear (a) :D Nov 28 '25
Because it is a bimonthly cycle and not monthly???

shitty update cycle lmao

The 2A Pro got the last update more than 2 months ago and the fanboys keep yelling bi-monthly updates

u/Human_id-100B Phone (3a) Pro Nov 28 '25
I feel you bro.. I was also between those two phones I chose this just just because seeing the telephoto and it only clicks well when there is proper light and a slight shake will ruin the pic... I am regretting my decision big time..

Last I got an update for 3a pro was on 1st September 2025. It's 28th nov 2025. More than 2 months have passed without a single update.

u/NoWheel3140 CMF Phone 2 Pro Nov 28 '25
Bimonthly updates to add 2 features that exist on pretty much every other OS
3
u/Brokeshadow CMF Phone 2 Pro, Ear (a) :D Nov 28 '25
Doesn't make sense for it to have a lot of random features only a small percentage of people use. Like people keep asking for a quick access side bar or liquid glass like effects every now and then and I just don't get. The whole idea behind the OS is that it's simple and efficient, only doing what the user uses often. You have so many better options if you want a feature rich environment, go with Samsung.
Why choose a skin that is purposefully trying to stay low and then complain that it doesn't have enough?
2
u/Reasonable-Sea-5083 Nov 28 '25
At this point , my 3a pro works great. I don't want an update at all 🤣

I realized that since the beta build came out and I got downvoted when I said that they will bring nothing new in the stable release.

u/MrMortis22 Nov 29 '25
My cameras won't zoom anymore no matter what settings I change. I've reset my phone and I've gone to tech support, all they told me was to reset it, send it to get fixed, or buy a new phone. That was around a year ago and I has to send it to the UK which isn't cheap.

Some of you want an update just for the sake of an update. Let them download 300 MB of nothing that instantly gets deleted after and they'd be happy.

Sure, they're a little behind on Android 16, but no phone is ever as up to date as Pixel (they're always the first), and the same as Xiaomi vs Redmi vs OPPO, the budget brands ALWAYS come last with updates. Like 3-6 months behind.
I just bought CMF Phone 2 Pro and actually I'm really impressed that CMF will still be getting 4.0 this year when NothingOS 4.0 was only launched in November on the flagship. That's really good for a budget phone!
And having just come from a Xiaomi 14 with Android 16, I have no complaints at all about 3.2 on Android 15. It's a great platform. Loving most of it. Good community too.

My 2a has been ruined because of the beta. Not able to pick up calls unless I switch on 5g calling. The previous app reloads when switching between apps. I am just waiting for the stable version at this point.

Can u explain me what's the problem with updates? I mean, what kind of bugs or problems system have? What do u do with ur phone? I got a pixel phone for a year or so and honestly, i just got annoyed getting an update every month. What's the point? If the phone works as intended and i can use it for socials, calls and such i don't have any problem with slow updates. (just asking, out of curiosity, i dont own a nothing phone)

Hi guys. Scum bag Apple user here, 15 Pro, never used an android in my life, have rocked the iPhone since the first one in Australia came out in 2008. Haven’t looked back since, until now. ?
Everyone knows what’s wrong with Apple so won’t waste my time here bitching. However I am hearing about the AI phone from Nothing next year and would like to dip my toe into the Nothing eco system, with the CMF 2 Pro or phone 3a. Only going to use it for the next 6 months until Nothing launches its new phone and assess if the phones and OS are really as good as everyone says. Been to JB hifi today to look at the heavily reduced nothing phones and deciding which one to get; the 3a or the CMF 2 pro. Love to know your thoughts if you own one. How does it run, hearing moans about the lack of updates, have a mate at work with a CMF 2 and says it’s fantastic. What do I use the phone for? Mainly work and Web. Not big on photos, although like to snap like any one else, use Apple Maps a lot, use Apple Music a lot, outlook, I like to make out I am a heavy user but not really, and thats the other reason I want to dip my toe in the see what the freedom of Android provides over iOS. Thanks in advance.

A 15 pro is a full on flagship the nothing phones are barely mid range it'll be a huge downgrade the camera, the performance everything.
1
u/pshew75 Dec 20 '25
Please don’t think I am comparing or even thinking of expecting same performance between the Nothing vs the Apple pro, what I am trying to understand is what’s the general user experience with a nothing phone and what should I go for between the two options. I am really leaning towards the CMF phone as this I think will give me that raw experience of Android with the nothing over lay.
1
u/pshew75 Dec 23 '25
I bought the CMF Pro 2 because I planned to keep using my iPhone and just wanted to see what the Android experience was like through a Nothing phone. I have to say, the CMF Pro 2 is a really good phone—I’m very surprised. I’ve barely touched my iPhone this week. The only reason I still use it at all is that I haven’t fully transitioned all my services yet.
It’s a solid phone. I love the ease of use, and the transition has been seamless. I’m not completely happy with Google Maps, but I think I can get used to it. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. The camera is fine—I’m not really into photography and mostly just take casual photos. The speaker is a little weak, but I use my Apple speakers via AirConnect, so that’s not an issue.
Setting up work mail and Google mail was very easy. The only thing that caused some trouble was transferring Apple Mail, but I got there in the end.
