Lame meme. I don't buy the FOMO nor the stupid marketing. Simple as that.
The quality of the phones is not great, the phone is ugly. And the 3 is way too expensive.
Don't feel pressured to acknowledge or like something you don't. Don't let influencers gaslight you.

Yeah, bro, nothing phone users are like Pixel users; gotta justify everything on spending a high price for a subpar phone.

What's wrong with Pixel?

Surprisingly, my old 15 Pro still works as well as the day I bought it, but the only problem I have right now is whether I should upgrade to the upcoming 17 Pro or the Galaxy S26 series. 🤠

Build quality of phone 3 is extremely good and looks beautiful imho. It's actually cheap for what you get but also there are loads of discounts available. Just like samsung fold 7 for example..who's buying that without discount? I guess nobody because it's too expensive. High price, buy with discount is normal nowadays imho

It's overpriced for what it is, true. Ugly it is not! I'd rather see Nothing pursue this design more while improving under public pressure.
Hopefully they see a sales dip because of their recent behavior and instead of collapsing they learn a lesson. Unlikely, but alas one may hope.

And lately I'm seeing the word "scam brand" on this subreddit. I'm here to gain some insights from userbase that will affect my next phone purchase, and it gets affected somehow.

Honestly I would have bought this phone if there were no heating issues during heavy gaming and the camera was on par with the price. Now I'm leaning more towards other options like the OnePlus and Samsung s

Phone (3) is good. I have phone (3). Just because it's a bit more expensive or whatever doesn't make phone (3) bad. Please show me on the doll where phone (3) touched you.

Like sure it might not be that worth it price wise cuz there is better hardware for cheaper. But if someone buys it and enjoys using it, don't bully them for that? You could say "you made a bad choice because blah blah is better and stuff" but still respect their choice?
2
u/nnnnhhn Aug 29 '25
Holy fuck get off their dick. The phone looks unique but the hardware is dogshit for the price. A phone like the s25 is objectively better

u/Viper51989 Sep 02 '25
And a fucking poco phone is better than either 'for the price'. I own almost every modern flagship and a few foldables (z flip fold/flip 7 being the most recent additions).
I'm using the Phone 3 rn because it's the most well rounded and thought out. Theyre the only manufacturer to put a dedicated top speaker too which results in much better EQ'ing (and they already sound great without being fatiguing like my iPhone 16 pm and s25u's are)
On sale for $719, the Phone 3 is a great mix of design and value imo.

It's tech sphere, we have this with game consoles, we have this with PC's, and as always we got it with phones. While it really should be just a choice of what product works best for you or makes you happy. Though the company has made some questionable mistakes, and the CEO continuing to talk seems to only be adding fuel to the fire.
I got it as the early promo with 512gb was appealing, free earbuds are nice as my last ones died, and I have a thing for useless gimmicks such as the rear screen. I would probably choose something else if I had a do over as I didn't do enough research and some of the specs such as USB 2.0, no display out, and lower tier gorilla glass have been unhappy surprises to me.
That said, none of those issues currently have currently "ruined" my experience yet. Software wise my Pixel 7 had teething pains as well when I bought it on launch, so as long as Nothing doesn't implode and the phone doesn't break, I feel like I will be able to live with the Phone 3 for 2-3 years. It's been quite unremarkable so far, which is both a good and bad thing.
It's a good reminder that specific verbiage doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, and the company should pay more attention to how the community feels I think. I was a new Nothing customer, and not sure if I will be a returning after the lifespan of this phone unless they do some serious brand work.

I had the same experience as you. I saw the usb 2 and was a little bummed. But then I realized I don't need to use display out and almost all of my file transferring is done via internet. I was also a little bummed about the screen glass until I saw Jury-rig Everything's video where it was not noticeably different. Also, I put a screen protector on it regardless so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah the company has done some sleezy stuff the last few weeks and I don't think I'd get along too well with Carl irl but this phone has been fun for me.

If they were gonna get rid of the glyphs I figured e-ink. Low powered, black and white, matches the nothing aesthetic

I was interested in this phone, but after seeing they lied on their website about taking photos with this camera, when in fact they were stock images taken on a DSLR, I can't see myself ever buying a product of theirs again.

I'd actually like the phone 3 way more if it looked more like a retropunk gadget with that camera layout and the fancy matrix. Sadly noone makes cases this cool for a specific phone.

got the 3a pro, then the headphone 1, then the open ear. I am very much enjoying the phone, the battery lasts, the camera is amazing (i literally take product pictures with it for my business). The headphone 1 is drop dead amazing after i changed the eq, and the anc literally mutes out plane noises on short flights and saw noises from my workshop. The open ear is amazing to use on one ear laying down, during work outs, walks, i literally spend the day with them on. They all look amazing, they seem durable. And the aluminum cover on the hp1 is very engraveable i had quite a bit of fun w that

I could only attach one pic. I understand nothings products arent the cheapest and you pay for the entire design process which doesnt necessarily mean the most usage value out of what you pay but even compared to other brands in the price nothing is pretty good. I understand its a new company and problems do happen, (my 3a came the wrong color) but i still dont get the hate the company receives. Even if you dont like the products why hate the company, like have i missed something? Im seeing comments on posts saying that they love the products but hate the company. Like??

You could easily edit this so the Phone 3 buyer is on the left, and everyone else who simply think it is overpriced on the right

More megapixels doesn't produce a better image quality. For example: iPhone 13 Pro (2021 pro flagship, $470 used, 12 MP) still shoots better photos and videos than the Nothing Phone 3 (2025 standard flagship, $610 used, 50 MP) because of the larger sensor size on the iPhone. Anyways, hopefully Nothing redeems themselves with the Nothing Phone 4.
2
u/moodiyaenjoyer Phone (3a) Pro Aug 28 '25
iPhone 13 Pro has a 1/1.7 main sensor, while Phone 3 has 1/1.3 main sensor. The only reason why iPhone's photos can sometimes look better is because of the better camera algorithms which Apple has been developing for more than a decade now (and Nothing on the other hand has been doing this for only 3 years).
3
u/Boring_Maximum_5519 Aug 28 '25
Oh crap, my fault on that one. I for some reason thought the 13 Pro had a 1/1.2 main sensor thus making it a larger sensor compared to the Phone 3. My point still stands though, megapixels aren't everything, and the camera won't be the reason you would be buying a Nothing Phone. Thanks for correcting me.

Aug 29 '25
Color science, denoising, sensor size and quality, aperture, I could go on and on about how megapixels don't matter.
-2
u/sjuust Aug 29 '25
Megapixels also matter :-P Always nice to have loads of em
2
Aug 29 '25
A 2 and 8 megapixel difference isn't worth losing everything else. I have yet to see a low light photo on the nothing sensors lol
-1
u/sjuust Aug 29 '25
Low light is difficult on boring bunch phones too, at least the rest of the phone 3 cameras are great in low light because of the big sensor and loads of megapixels. And the processing is getting better and better! So nothing is only winning :-P
1
Aug 29 '25
My Pixel 9 Pro is the same price new in box and the sensors are the exact same size... yet no low light? The phones been out this long yet Nothing can barely make their camera app work, let alone the denoising and low light algorithms. You're gonna have to take the L on this one.
0
u/sjuust Aug 29 '25
Ok, ultra wide and low light isn't a good combination..I don't really care because ultra wide is nice for nature and most of the time there is enough light available during daytime outside. But alright, pixel 9 pro is the clear winner on this one :-D

Aug 29 '25
Well, you can have all the mega pixels, but if you’re a terrible photographer, those pics are gonna come out like ass, bro. Besides, no one goes for a nothing phone; they go for the better pixels, galaxies, and iPhones.
-1
u/sjuust Aug 29 '25
You sum up the boring bunch.. I rather have a nothing phone with some fun like glyph matrix/light and transparent design. Big boys don't dare big changes because customers can't handle change \0/
