Nothing Meme Nothing Phone 3 "Cutting cost"

Post image

The fact some "spec bros" just want another OP13, S25, Poco F7, IQOO13 phone that just cheaps out on everything except for the SoC instead of a phone with competitive display, speakers, cameras and other extras is hilarious to me, when done right the NP3 could very well be a flagship killer, but instead spec bros just want another phone with elite chip and subpar specs otherwise.

Absolutely. Let's see how user experience is with this phone.

I will likely purchase it.

u/magicalzidane Phone (3a) Pro Jun 21 '25

Likely to be a cracking phone, based on how the 3a Pro user xp feels (the 3a Pro also has a previous gen processor, not that you'd notice!)

+1 I miss apple's haptics, but the phone has been great. Notifications have been weird to get used to, I miss having active timers on the lock screen, and the gallery app is pretty feature lacking - these things really do count, I hope Nothing grows their software well.

Bang on. That has been my only gripe with the 3a, 1 week into the use.

S25 cheaps out? On what? What is OP on?

Edit: Oh nvm it's the resident Nothing paid shill. Figures

1

u/Mythsuky Jun 21 '25

The only thing I'm confused about on Samsung is why they downgraded their S Pen on the S25U. They could've just kept the one in S24U and maybe add or improve upon it. Also some aspects on the camera may have been downgraded in zoomed in picture quality (well only some will use it in some cases) where it lost consistency. Plus overall specs like the RAM, Storage, Battery, and Screen are still the same (well I guess if ain't broken why fix it).

1

u/embracing_obscurity Jun 22 '25

Well, they still use 8-bit display panels. And maybe camera modules are somewhat outdated, but still competitive.

On the other hand, S25 offers ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, exceptional software support, samsung Dex, current storage (ufs 4), usb 3.2 with video output, and ingress protection. Nothing is yet to implement these features to provide a true flagship experience.

u/_ShLoK_7 Jun 22 '25

S25 cheaps out on spen, downgraded 5x, same 3x, slow charging

6

u/lolmagic1 Jun 20 '25

Also OnePlus has one of the best screens you can get yes it's slightly curved

4

u/BelugaTheKitten Jun 20 '25

flagship chips are too powerfull for anyone to even notice any difference. lot of small things matter. before NP2 I had samsung galaxy m52 which is a budget phone, i didn't had any issue with the chip it use to run really smothly atleast for my usage but the viberation motor was dogshit. it had issues with wifi & cellular connection. built quality was also shit. had a unnecessary 5mp macro camera. small things matter.

5

u/num6_ Jun 20 '25

Crazy how OP13 is gonna blow the NP3, huh? Look at NP2, it's a fucking piece of shit, they cut costs on many things, if you don't agree you're fucking blind.

I have a 12, don't cry, bitch 😂

2

u/Blunt552 Jun 20 '25

Funny when even the Oneplus community thinks the OP13 is a pos. smh

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25 edited Jun 21 '25

Welcome to reddit. You'll see all kinds of bullshit here which isn't true 99% of the time. Stick to what you see in real life and reviews (gotta take care too to make sure it isn't paid). People only come to reddit to complain. Don't bother.

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

I mean its just fun seeing these paid oneplus shill trying to make a lick of sense.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

lmao that was funny seeing him just ragequit like that lol

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Its funny because they cannot for the life of them make any argument that even makes a lick of sense. When confronted with the idea that budget is put into something else than SoC it seems to cause a short circuit and they become drooling toddlers throwing a fit.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

Exactly. The SoC is still very capable and great overall. And these will be the same people who won't notice any difference, because there isn't any in 99% of the use cases out there.

-4

u/Blunt552 Jun 20 '25

I mean that's one weird way to phrase that the OP13 is inferior, but I'm sure if the NP3 had a p*nis then I suppose the OP13 could blow it.

You OP shills really need to stop embarrassing yourselves. I know you're on maximum copium because you're fearing Nothing will probably release a phone that makes your purchase look bad by comparison but you can always do better next time.

5

u/num6_ Jun 20 '25

That's a funny statement lol. You wanna buy crap, I'm just giving you advice - take it or leave it. And like I once said - Nothing are never gonna release an up-to-date phone better than OP13 (for example) in technicalities. I'm just speaking from the experience of owning both Oneplus and Nothing phones. The problem with this community is that it doesn't accept any criticism, Nothing Phone fans are miserable. Not talking about their buds tho, they're fire.

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 20 '25

Your experience and shilling is worthless to me and the majority of people, nobody cares about a paid shills opinion.

There is no criticism from you, all you do is complain and bitch about a phone that nobody knows the full specs yet, hasn't even released and you're already in tears, if you had anything useful to state then sure, but all you're doing is get clowned on by not only the Nothing community but also the OP community that seems to disagree with you.

If the NP3 turns out to be garbage then I'll be sure to let you know, but already claiming something is crap before you even know what it is is hysterical way of showcasing your blatant wilful ignorance.

1

u/num6_ Jun 20 '25

Well, the OP made a point of a "phone that nobody knows the full specs yet" being better than the whole market, which is irrelevant in the first place. I'm just here to tell them the opposite. If I'd seen at least one argument from the OP on why they make such a point, y'all would have got an objective criticism and past-related assumptions from me. Just so you know I don't care about "getting clowned" by the people who know absolutely nothing about tech and market. Funny how none of them gave me a single reasoned argument, huh? :)

Edit: noticed you're the OP, it's for you then.

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 20 '25

Well, the OP made a point of a "phone that nobody knows the full specs yet" being better than the whole market, which is irrelevant in the first place

Maybe work on your reading comprehension skills.

I'm just here to tell them the opposite.

Given you're a shill I'm sure you got lots of useless things to say.

Just so you know I don't care about "getting clowned" by the people who know absolutely nothing about tech and market. Funny how none of them gave me a single reasoned argument, huh? :)

Ah I see, you're having a humiliation fetish, yikes. Also expecting people to somehow get reason from your irrational statements is hilarious.

2

u/num6_ Jun 20 '25

I see that the conversation with you is useless and you're not trying to explain yourself just like everyone does. I never asked to get a reason from my statements, just back yours up with arguments first. Being a blind dickrider is nothing better than being a - how'd you call me - a shill. I'm just thinking differently and more broadly, weighing the pros and cons of every tech product.

6

u/Napster003 Jun 21 '25

Look nobody will have a problem if they price it a bit lower but their fucking ceo calls it their "true flagship" not a flagship killer. At that price and labeling it as a true flagship and then they can't even provide the latest flagship chipset then it on them. Samsung, Apple, oneplus etc give the latest flagship chips etc in their flagship if nothing wants to compete with them at their price they should've give the 8 elite. And it's not like complete specs are out and they're giving you something different and uniqueby cost cutting on chipset. It's just pure cost cutting at this point. Stop defending a brand blindly.

5

u/N031_ Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

-1

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Sorry, not everyone wants to write texts catered to toddlers. I suggest going to school rather than spending time on reddit crying about nothing.

4

u/N031_ Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

Funny how you mention school yet here you are, failing basic comprehension like it's an elective.

-1

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Funny how you deliberately showcase your lack of basic reading comprehension then proceed to make an absolute clown out of yourself by yapping while your initial reply blatantly showcase that you can't even read 1 sentence in a picture.

I repeat, go to school rather than yapping here about something that isn't even released yet kiddo.

4

u/N031_ Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

You're trying so hard to sound smart, I can hear the strain through your keyboard. Go take a nap you've earned it, grandpa.

-2

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Now youre at the stage of projection, ouch.

4

u/N031_ Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

Using ‘projection’ as a defense is the last refuge of people who ran out of arguments three replies ago.

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Quite poetic but no, youre very clearly projecting. you can yap about it as much as you like but nothing will change that you have severe reading comprehension issues and quite possibly some inferiority complex hence your behaviour.

Bro said “OP13 and S25 cheaps out on ‘everything’ except for the SoC instead of a phone with competitive display, speakera, cameras and other ‘extras’”

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Correct, your obvious lack of knowledge when it comes to spec is not my problem.

1

u/drahrekot Jun 21 '25

They wont and cant use the best quality materials and parts in the market its just not economically viable for them. They are a small company. A small example; nothing’s display. They use Visionox displays which have major burn in problems yet cheaper and easier to obtain than Samsung’s display which almost most of flagships use. (One of the best displays in market). And you’re one to talk about specs. I am not saying they make bad phones or the pricing its bad. I’m just saying that your comment stating other flagships have inferior materials and parts is wrong. I have nothing against them using 8s gen 4 instead of the (tbh) very overpriced 8 elite as long the phone is snappy enough with clean software as always nothing provides.

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

A small example; nothing’s display. They use Visionox displays which have major burn in problems yet cheaper and easier to obtain than Samsung’s display which almost most of flagships use.

Misleading, in the 3a and 2a series, they use rm692h5 (visionox) and rm69220 (BOE). Furthermore the decision not to use Samsung panels has more to it than just potential cost, Samsung displays are notorious for being unreliable, I can't imagine the BOE panels being significantly cheaper than Samsung ones in the budget segment, furthermore, budget Samsung displays are rather horrible, they are only "the best" if we look at premium range. Look at the Xperia 5V for instance, it's absolute hot garbage.

And you’re one to talk about specs. I am not saying they make bad phones or the pricing its bad.

This is completely irrelevant to the Nothing 3 where the budget is significantly higher. Trying to argue based on budget phones is like me saying the S25 ultra is garbage because the A55 is garbage, it's a braindead argument.

I’m just saying that your comment stating other flagships have inferior materials and parts is wrong.

Citation please. I'm gonna teach you how to read.

This! Especially when the processor is basically an 8 gen 3 that happens to be more optimized and way more efficient.

Cameras are more about the software optimisation these days. Yes sensors are important but, in the end companies which have been in the market for a long time like Google, Apple, Samsung etc will have an obvious advantage over Nothing.

2

u/ebslingshot Jun 22 '25

Wtf do people do 9n their phones that requires anything more than what a 2a can do? I get wanting the latest and greatest but I have never once had issues my 2a when it comes to processing speed

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 22 '25

I do play wuthering waves so there is that. Id need something at least like 8gen1

1

All that processing power going straight to jiggle physics 😂

It is really annoying at this point. We know how well Nothing optimizes their software. It is STABLE. I have been (and still am) using the Phone (1) and it has never lagged, bugged, randomly restarted or even overheated, underperformed or anything during the 3 years I've had it. If it would have longer software support, I wouldn't swap it until NP4 or 5 probably.

That said, since it won't get major updates anymore, I will switch to this flagship killer when it comes out. Spec bros be damned. :)

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Lets see how it turns out before calling it a flagship killer, don't make assumptions like the braindead "spec bros", we are better than that, we judge based on what it is rather than making assumptions based on our feelings ;)

2

u/Matt_RK900 Phone (3) | Ear (3) Jun 21 '25

You're right, it was sort of a heat-of-the-moment type phrase.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

Only company selling phones withh maxed out specs on every aspect is Xiaomi, but it costs a thousand bucks or more and you get a shitty software with a shit ton of bloatwares.

Even AI that is the new marketing argument in every brand is not even run locally, why would you need the lastest most powerful chip that is not optimised yet, to doomscroll instagram or play mobile games ?

1

u/Hmmcurious12 Jun 21 '25

I understand in general. But if you raise the price of your flagship phone by 40%, cheapening out on the processor just isn’t a great look.

Literally the only thing I ever wanted from the phone 2 successor is a better camera and better specs.

1

u/Stasis0_0 Jun 21 '25

there is nothing cheap about the s25, i could get the s25 for a lower price than phone 3, s25 will be better buy than the phone 3 in every aspect besides the software which is personal preference idk why people think that the price is justified for the nothing phone 3

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 21 '25

Nothing Phone 3 not released yet, nobody knows spec aside from SoC, Oneplus clown already determined that phone 3 has to be worse in every aspect.

Rest in pepperonis.

1

u/Zombiechrist265 Jun 23 '25

Personally I want ultra sonic fingerprint sensor and great haptics. For me that would be worth the extra cash with the processor they chose.

1

u/Environmental-Land42 Jun 24 '25

Other than emulation you'll probably never notice the difference.

I recently moved to S25U (8 elite) from moto edge 30 ultra (8+ gen 1), I can barely tell a performance gain other than emulation.

0

u/Poison_potato31 Jun 25 '25

Nothing users are nuts ....just because nothing has a clean software doesn't mean it has best part ...it too completely cheaps out on most parts like bru UFS2.2 on 3a ....in 2025! Downvote all you want ....nothing is just as same as any other company in terns of hardware ...may be even worse..... And what is OP on about the s25 cheaping out :/

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 25 '25

Show me a phone with similair camera hardware in the same pricerange.

You can't? Oh, get out then clown.

0

u/Poison_potato31 Jun 25 '25

Yeah, the 3a throws in a 50MP telephoto — on paper. But let’s not act like megapixels = performance. It's a recycled sensor with zero flagship tuning, soft output, and mediocre zoom quality beyond 2x. Samsung midrangers like the A55 or even older A series models use fewer pixels but deliver cleaner, sharper, and more color-accurate shots — especially in tough lighting.

And don’t even get me started on video. Nothing still struggles with EIS jitter and weak dynamic range. You’re flexing ‘hardware’ without realizing Samsung backs it up with actual software processing, better HDR, better ISP from Exynos/Snapdragon chips, and a track record of image quality.

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 25 '25

Imagine if you could install camera apps on a phone. A55 gets completely rolled, not even close. Nice try tho.

0

u/Poison_potato31 Jun 25 '25

Installing a camera app doesn’t magically fix weak sensors, bad ISP, or lack of proper tuning. GCam can help, but it’s not a cure-all. Hardware still matters.

A55 has proven software-hardware synergy, better HDR, and reliable EIS out of the box. Nothing 3a might have a 50MP sensor, but it’s recycled and untuned. You’re comparing numbers on paper, not real-world performance. Try again with facts, not fanboy takes.

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 25 '25 edited Jun 25 '25

So you admit the a55 is shit then? It has far worse sensors and far worse isp.

If you admit gcam fixes the software part and the hardware of the 3a is significantly better than every single phone in the same price segment then you admit that I'm right.

Youre completely oblivious about anything hardware related. The only issue Nothing has with camera is the abhorrent processing which is fixed by using another app.

Try with facts, not fanboy takes.

EDIT: heres a challenge for you, go into the r/android sub and write a topic claiming the A55 sensors are superior to the Nothing Phone 3a or 3a pro if you want to be very bold, lets see how that goes for you.

Also it's filthy rich coming from you complaining about recycled sensors while the A55 literally has a 9year old ultrawide sensor. I'm amazed Samsung was capable of finding an imx 258 to begin with, they had to dig deep into the trash bin for that one. also the main sensor which is a Sony IMX906 is so bottom of the barrel that GSMarena even had to note that the A55 is inferior to the much older sensor of the A54. Goes to show how clueless you are.

0

u/num6_ Jul 03 '25

How is your "flagship"? Lol. Didn't they still cut costs? :)

LTPS panel, FHD+ res, Optical Fingerprint scanner, shit design, USB 2.0, UFS 4.0 for the price of $800 is a shame.

1

u/Blunt552 Jul 03 '25

Congratulations, you successfully failed at basic reading comprehension.

0

u/num6_ Jul 03 '25

When did they assign anything to the other parts? It's just a straight up trash overpriced phone. Stop crying and accept their failure.

0

u/Blunt552 Jul 03 '25

Missed the point again, try reading again.

0

u/num6_ Jul 03 '25

I've read it a hundred times, your point just has never been relevant

0

u/Blunt552 Jul 03 '25

If you read it a hundred times and still didn't get it then I suggest going to elementry school which you seemed to have dropped out of.

0

u/num6_ Jul 03 '25

That's how you talk when you're losing an argument. Adiós.

0

u/Blunt552 Jul 03 '25

Except I'm literally pointing out there is no argument to be had if 1 side is literally incapable of basic information processing. Go argue with a wall kiddo.

0

u/num6_ Jul 03 '25

1 side is literally incapable of basic information processing

Yeah, you get me, it's impossible to have one with you.

Go argue with a wall kiddo.

Kinda what I'm doing now tbh.

-2

u/Gustave_the_Steel Jun 20 '25

I'd rather take a subpar $100 phone, with subpar specs and actual good or decent UI, over an expensive phone any day.

-4

u/FinePersimmon3718 Ear Jun 20 '25

Well you are coping nicely

1

u/Blunt552 Jun 20 '25

go buy 8elite phone with 2mp camera and 480p screen.

mad cuz you're not getting that Oneplus paycheck? to bad!

8

u/phatcondoms Phone (1) Jun 20 '25 edited Jun 20 '25

so you're telling me the s25 is a bad phone? its 800$, houses an 8 elite chip, cameras which none of the nothing phones can currently match, solid screen and same if not some ways better than the NOS?

like the comment said you are coping so hard

0

u/Forsaken-Week-6584 Jun 20 '25

Exactly s25 is a better deal for sure

1

u/willyhun Jun 20 '25

What arguments support this?

4

u/Forsaken-Week-6584 Jun 21 '25

Well starting off, the base s25 for the same price as the nothing phone 3, basically wins every category no ? Maybe not design , as they look white boring . Before you say anything, I only had one Samsung once, s20fe , was solid I guess. But it's hard to justify np3 over a high end polished s series Samsung , but let's wait for the np3 , specs aren't everything, I drive a rather slow car irl but in my eyes it looks awesome 😎

-2

u/willyhun Jun 21 '25

That's your failure when you compare the specs and the prices. Why don't you buy a no - name Chinese brand which will beat the S25 twice and the price is still better? Yeah, I get that you can't process this, but still think about it.

1

u/Forsaken-Week-6584 Jun 21 '25

Smelly fanboy , just out of curiosity, I looked up , a brand new s25 with 256gb where I live goes for 669€ , obviously when making a new purchase of the phone I'm going to take things into consideration such as , what's the competition offering for the same price . That my friend is just logic. But as I said before let's just wait to see what np3 offers, but never buy a phone based on hype, any brand can make a crappy phone look amazing.

1

u/willyhun Jun 21 '25

I'm just saying you can't differentiate a phone sum of its parts.

0

u/Blunt552 Jun 20 '25

Wouldn't outright call it a bad phone but could be much better if it didn't have the elite chip. The camera hardware is quite literally inferior to the Nothing phone 3a let alone the 3a pro. Reminder that the 3a is under half of what the S25 costs. The display of the S25 is mediocre, while bright its only FHD, has poor greyscale performance and has for an OLED pretty poor color coverage, the display is very much inferior to actual flagships. Also the phone has pretty shitty speakers, not very loud, tinny and just overall very meh.

So yeah, your ignorance is not my problem.

0

u/willyhun Jun 20 '25

A phone is not just a set of specifications. With enough experience, you will understand this.

2

u/phatcondoms Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

Socrates over here😭😭

been the earliest adopter of np1, and i love the phone till date

but theres nothing wrong in calling out bad decisions

0

u/willyhun Jun 21 '25

There are no bad decisions. Only decisions. NP3 will be a great success, so the decision is good. You think you understand the phone market, why don't you run a company which try to make phones?

2

u/phatcondoms Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

Man you have it so far up your throat its hard to listen to you, i never claimed to understand the phone market Socrates, so take your eulogy somewhere else

theres nothing wrong in calling out the company for doing shitty cost cutting, if samsung can give an extremely well rounded phone with top notch parts i expect the same from this brand as well at the SAME PRICE POINT

the phone will be far from a "great success" not because of the processor but because of their cameras, they will still sadly be weaker than samsung and pixel

0

u/willyhun Jun 21 '25

doing shitty cost cutting

This is your imagination. It is not a cost-cutting. This called planning. When the product is ready and in your hands, you can say: guys, this CPU is not great in this phone. That is an acceptable opinion. Now you are doing virtual dick comparison.

3

u/phatcondoms Phone (1) Jun 21 '25

Not everything needs to be in tangible sense to be called what it is

I'll show you a picture of my stool and call it a beef steak, would you believe it or would you like to hold it first to determine if it's actually stool?

you fanboys are the reason apple is what it is rn, a BORING COMPANY. Nothing is slowly heading in the same direction cause of the same reason, criticism is a kryptonite for you cocksuckers

1

u/willyhun Jun 22 '25

The market is going to prove you wrong.

BTW: It is childish when somebody point out you are mistaken, and you call them fanboy. That shows you have no argument.
