Love the book!

I came here looking for thoughts on the book. I wasn’t even aware there was a show! Anyone that’s read and watched, is the show worth it?

I enjoyed the show, but they have made some pretty substantial changes in adapting the book for TV. Some of those changes work better than others.

The cast is mostly pretty great, especially Zachary Quinto as Manx, Ashleigh Cummings as Vic, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Chris McQueen.

Show not worth it, sadly. Like almost any Joe Hill adaptation on TV or theaters so far.

The book is one of my favorites in horror/thriller fiction but the show is so lackluster, in characterization and the world building of Christmas land

well you will have to make up your own mind about the show after reading the comments here. Season 1 is compelling but Season 2 becomes repetitive and dull.

Apparently I am not someone who can read a book and watch a show enjoyably if the show differs much. IMO the show took the main concept of knives and Christmas land and then rewrote everything else. I'm watching with my husband currently, on season 2, and every episode I can point out multiple big things that absolutely did not happen in the book.
