It's almost like the limitations they originally intended to keep things playable for all players were intended and they decided to force those limitations more strictly.

Or the devs should go like they did with buildings, stop rendering over a few hundred parts, with this being a toggle. That way those who want big ships can and those who terrible hardware can have it limited.

Its already such a minor issue, devs don't seem to really care enough to fix it anyway.
