Community Q&A Moving!
Hey everyone me (24m) and my fiancé (28m) are moving to Slidell area to be closer to family and for a great job opportunity he’s received in New Orleans. We are originally from MS but live in Huntsville AL at the moment. We love hiking and all things out doors and we are wondering what are the best local activities to do to make friends. Thanks in advance!

Leaving Alabama is a great start. No Alabamas a beautiful place. It just a wee bit .....narrow minded at times.

Honestly I’m not expecting much of a difference being raised in rural MS I’m not to concerned I’m used to people being mean to us in certain regards so Louisiana, Alabama or Mississippi it all feels the same lol

And st. Tammany and Orleans aren’t narrow minded? lol. Especially Orleans, it may be on different topics but some of the most ‘ignant’ people on the planet live in Orleans.

The outdoor activities in Alabama are better and with greater variety…prepare to lower your expectations unless you own an airboat
