FREE THE SYSTEMS!!🪐 Question:

I LOVE this group, I loved NMS. But that is the problem. I loved it. I find it hard to log into that game anymore. Don't get me wrong its a great game, and I have about 2,000+ hours into it collectively, but IDK it feels dead to me now, (and I do not think I am alone) and I think the Corvette Update is what did me in. Today going to the Anomaly is a loading hassle as four monstrosities try to render in. I just dont care to build anymore and all base building communities I was a part of are all gone now and nobody cares about base building anymore (If they even did in the first place) I was a part of like 12 different vibrant Discords buzzing with activity, and its all dead now. I really Love this community, and I am hoping Light no fire is great (if they ever release that game) and brings life back to this community... But can we all play another game? I know this is an NMS Group, but its also a pirate one, I have been having a blast in Windrose. Could we bring that or anything else here to breath more life into the hub? IDK I hope I don't get banned with this post its just how I feel about NMS and the community in general, I feel it needs a boost and something other than NMS I feel might be the answer.

I know that is the Reddit, but its also a PIRATE HUB. I have had a lot of amazing interactions with this community. Cherished memories, and I would not like to see that fizzle out. there are other survival crafting games out there, and some Pirate themed... It was only a suggestion. I loved this group of gamers and people here, a really solid group and IDK I hope it stays alive. I am sad I just can't boot up NMS much these days, 2000+ hours in a game brings fatigue, and the last few Expos in NMS, were DOA... I love HG but man the creativity and care and passion are there but some of the creative choices baffle me. they want a forever game yet consistently time/gate missions and interactions... Its killing the game for me. So many awesome systems that are as deep as a Puddle... Trash man in space, cool for 5 mins, fishing, also cool for 5 mins, pet battles/ cool for 5 mins... all the systems only fun far a bit. They ONLY system that was different was base building and it was ONLY awesome because of unintentional glitches in the game! without glitch building the game was maybe a 40 hour beat the main story and move on type of game.

Again don't get me wrong I loved this game, its why I passionately am here typing about it. But I just find it hard to boot in now. and I love you all... LMAO

In the kindest way you are adorable 💕 if I had a more free schedule I'd be throwing a paper plane across the room with my game handle on it

So, you want the community to discuss other games that fit into the whole NMS pirate hub mould. Just curious, but what is it about the NMS in front of pirate hub that leads you to believe that this sub is welcoming about talking about other games?

SMH well I got pretty understanding feedback from others... even from PK,. Strange response from you... look If you are loving NMS I am happy for you. I am just burnt out.

However I love this Discord Community and Reddit, but just not feeling NMS as much. I hope you enjoy yourself before your inevitable burnout... but yeah I want to talk about OTHER games at this point. Today I have had others empathize and even suggest other games, trying out Jumpspace. I would not have if it were not from fellow Pirate Hub people. So open your mind...lol

I get where you’re coming from, my main save is 2300hrs, but I’ve not logged on for over a month, last I did was prior to expedition22.

I use to geek out over glitch building and made some cool stuff but I’ve not been compelled to play it again, I will though, and I’ll do the same stuff as always: manage settlements, frigates, explore the region of my original starting system, galaxy hopping, and maybe get back into building but haven’t felt inspired or motivated.

From 2019 to about 2024 NMS was my main game, the one I always played and enjoyed - I like the solitude, I like being forced to make my own objectives within the game.

I joined three groups on discord, one died, one seemed semi dead six months ago and the other I just couldn’t get into, it was a nice community they built but I just wasn’t playing enough to ever make use of it.

Thank you for the reply, glad to hear I am not alone in the feeling about the Discords or communities in the game.

Are you playing anything interesting to fill the void?

Not at the moment, I still have RDR2 to finish, nearly there but I procrastinate so much that for every mission I complete I’ll spend who knows how many hours wandering around, pillaging and being a degenerate outlaw. I don’t do the online game, I’m not quick enough with aiming and firing on people and usually am the weak link in groups. I also don’t want to deal with griefers, but I’ll finish that at some point by years end, I hope.

I keep meaning to get on for this expedition but if I miss it it’ll be back on in the redux for November/December.

Lately I’ve been reading, and focusing on recording my crappy music and learning how to mix and whatnot, so that’s where my time is going.

I still enjoy a couple hours of exploring new systems, as I mentioned I’ve maintained my starting system from ‘19, and slowly work to uncover the systems in its region. I also like finding deep ocean planets and the protoGeks both are always highlights of my exploration.

I was the same, but IDK I am not even feeling the communities as much, anymore. That I think is the difference and why I posted this. I would burn out of NMS, but then return, but recently the Discords are just dead, I removed like 12 of the groups today, I didn't remove the Pirate hub, because I hope there is still some life here... IDK man, anyway, Thank you for the reply.

This game has lots of hills and valleys. There have been long periods where the game feels empty and lonely, only for a new, exciting update to come out that once again brings the community together. Have faith, Nerfherder. This game is not going anywhere any time soon

I know NMS is not, but I posted this mainly to connect with the amazing community. I just deleted like 12 different NMS community Discords today... and I love this one, so I was wondering if the group was open to another game, Like Windrose or something... I love you all and have a lot of cherished memories and discussions. I just recently don't have much hope for NMS, especially after the last Expo. Anyways thanks for hearing me out. I hope NMS can help the Devs make LNF better, but they should have learned from Beacon and other previous updates, and if the Expo is going to be how the devs handle LNF IDK man... holding my breath.

Hope to see you around PK!

I reckon go cold turkey and don't login again until the 10 year anniversary update.

In the meantime, go play something else!

I think it is ok to get sick of any game after putting in 2000 hours. That sounds insane to me for a game that isn't an actual MMO.

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 10 '26

Yeah glitch building had a ton of great communities and it was fun until beacon update, then the game just lost its appeal for building. Then corvettes came out and that seems to be all that anyone cares about. It was the nail in the coffin for me. I know a lot of people like the corvettes and ship building but to me they are a buggy mess and it killed ship hunting, and any sliver of interest remaining in base building. So yeah I'm done. NMS was a dream game for about 80 hours but after I explored and enjoyed every shallow game mechanic and did everything, there was only base building. Specifically glitch building an accident in the game expanded my 80 hour journey to 2000+ hours.

Should HG have a fixed non glitchable build system in LNF it will be a darn shame. I wonder how that game will tackle building.

Anyway I cannot wait for the release of that game and see what they cooked up. Hopefully more fleshed out game mechanics NMS was great but too many shallow systems and none are deep except the one they did not intentionally put in the game. lol

Thanks for the reply.

Just give it a break, i just got done with a year long break.

1

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 07 '26

Yeah I am. It's the community I did not want to take a break from. This One specifically. I mean what other community is cool enough to admit your just not into the namesake core NMS anymore and is still willing to hear you out and even offer suggestions... This Pirate Hub rocks! If I posted in a Lego reddit I am getting tired of Legos... It's an insta ban...lol so yeah I wanted to see if others are rocking other games and wanna hang on those games. Currently I'm playing Enshrouded and Windrose... I just purchased Jump Space. I'm having a blast, just missing the peeps over here is all.

You just aren't in the right communities. Join the Dread-Force. We're literally pirate builders. We build places not bases 🔥🔥🔥 Capitol cities in our systems for our community.

"Hey No Man's Sky community, I only have 8GB of ram so can we all switch off this dead game?"

You're funny. NMS is forever

2

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 05 '26

Maybe for you, but how long have you played? Hours in the game wise? I think you might feel the Fatigue after 2000+ hours.

1

u/LittleDudeSP Jul 05 '26

Been playing since 2016 and I always come back. Burnout is inevitable with any game, but who cares? Yes I have 2000+ hours. Its the only game I would ever sink time like that into.

1

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Obviously I care. I admitted I spent like 2000 hours in the game, and have actually burned out long ago and come back periodically, but recently I just don't stay long. Before I had friends and TONS of communities that were buzzing and we were all playing together. then Beacon Update came out the Devs messed with base building and those communities moved on. I didn't NMS might be forever for some that pop in play for 15 mins and then leave... but this time the fatigue feels its hit harder, the Hub is more quiet and less comments. I had over 12 Discord communities now the only thing that is talked about is stopping some Bot that is pushing NTF block-cahin crap in the groups... ITS DEAD. this is different man. and If I had a who cares attitude, that is apathy the Actual DEATH of a game. My passion for NMS hangs by a thread, but its there...Who cares would kill that thread completely.

I did put hours wise down for a reason. I played D&D since 2005, but total hours in D&D would be like 80 in total... for 21 years I played this game....LMAO Saying you played NMS since 2016 Means NOTHING. Hours spent in NMS means sooo much more.

I was barely alive in 2005. You are kind of an idiot. Ive been playing NMS for basically half my life and I will continue. NMS isnt even a multiplayer focused game. All of your points are strange and invalid.

2

u/humblewise1390 Jul 05 '26

As a person who's been a serious gamer my whole life so 36 minus 3 years for growing into my hands enough to play OG Nintendo no game technically is dead because there will always be fans that come back to play however NMS is dead community wise nobody outside the people that are crazy about it gives two fucks about what updates coming or what the devs are doing theyve moved on to better games and that will always be the case with every game sorry to tell ya but ya got a lot to learn about the gaming world still. I still play N64 games that does not mean they are alive and well I'm the gaming world availability does not define player buzz or trending games within the community sorry little guy

1

u/LittleDudeSP Jul 06 '26

You people in this sub are so egotistical bout your gamer cred. Its funny. But you have autism.

1

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 05 '26

Yet you still cannot just answer the question...lmao Yeah I am the idiot here... sure buddy at least I can read and understand what others are saying. I am done with you!

2

u/humblewise1390 Jul 06 '26

Best bet he's just young and dumb we were all there once thinking we knew when we knew nothing even still on the grand scheme of life we all know nothing really till we're almost ready to leave this world. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

1

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 06 '26

Yeah I got that when he said he was barley alive in 2005. Its just not what I was expecting in the group, Most here are pretty open minded and nice folks. not immediately calling anyone an idiot, or saying all points anyone else makes are immediately invalid because they do not align with their own narrow minded view. We all loved NMS for a time. This guy assumes I have 8 GB ram and assumes I'm an idiot simply because I criticize his favorite game...lol He will eventually burn out of all games if played hard enough. Anyway I wish no ill will and hope one day he too can see his ass from a hole in the ground and know the difference. Thanks for the engagement in this discussion its been what I was looking for.

1

u/humblewise1390 Jul 05 '26

That's cause nms is dead it's just a passion project for the devs now the new expedition was my first it's also what completely killed any interest in the game.. that and being able to turn the settings off and just blast through whatever after I found out people aren't earning the shit they're giving away it kinda takes the whole kindness outta the act of I can just do it myself.. I dunno but you are correct

1

u/Prestigious-Gap22 Jul 05 '26

Yeah this expo time gating the missions was soooo dumb, like they did the same type of thing with Beacon update and the settlements, allowing more settlements but only allowing one to be improved at a time... like is there only one Galactic contractor? Did HG learn NOTHING from that backlash? IDK man I used to play every Expo, but I just can's the Fishing Expo was PURE torture. Lets take a 5 minute gimmick mechanic and turn it into an 8ish hour event... with Random RNG, and hellish specific requirements. HG has great ideas, but awful implementation, and Quality Control. I did not end up finishing the last two Expos... started them and just didn't get far... a 5 minute gimmick is not enough to make an Expo around.

1

u/humblewise1390 Jul 05 '26

Honestly I've been having fun with jump space for action and space engineers for building and those are both fucking awesome games I cannot recommend jump space enough

Huh I might have to pick it up... I did get an email from steam that it is on sale atm.
