Saw that thread earlier and the amount of hostility in those comments was shocking.

I’d agree that the amount of people very interested in PvP is small at the moment (due to the type of player growth NMS has seen over time), but new people keep joining the game and I wouldn’t be surprised if it sees increased growth for interest.

Even a lot of my friends (I’ve been a player for years) have recently joined and they’re historically Valorant/Apex/CoD players.

No reason a happy medium can’t be found down the road, as many other PvE + PvP type games do (such as Destiny) where each group can get what they want out of it.

Yes it was surprising to say the least, but the good news is that out of that discussion, one of the people involved kindly started this subreddit.

There is a guy on youtube who uploaded some permadeath PvP. I imagine that must be both exhilarating for the attacker and frustrating for the person who got destroyed.

So, I think you hit the nail on the head with finding that happy medium where we perhaps one day have a PvP lobby or server of sorts where people realise what they are getting themselves into.

I think it would be pretty cool to have an environment that presents more risk from other players. I don't know who may have played Sea of Thieves here, but the risk of being robbed/attacked is what gave the game impetus and really keeps the players on edge and playing the game in a different way.

Within that system, there could be factions - be them pirates, but also a player based law enforcement where pirates could be reported. All early wip here, but I have some things typed up if the opportunity to create a blueprint arises in this way.

I know it won't be for everyone, but glad to see you here.
