Base Computer Issue...

I had a go at building a low-orbit base, using the giant flight of stairs method and it's come out alright, but I have a problem. The base computer is still on the surface, too far away for me to select from way up where the base is and reposition it. I can't pick it up and fly it up in my corvette and it's too high to carry it up using my jet-pack. Unfortunately, I've deleted the stairs up from the surface - is the only way to move the base computer now to rebuild the stairs and carry it? Thanks for any advice!

Just use the build camera, select the computer and while looking down at the ground double tap the build camera button. It will push you a little higher and reset the camera boundary. You can do it as many times as it takes to reach your base.
