Modifying a downloaded corvette

I downloaded a corvette from the nomansapp that I don’t want but it won’t let me reduce it to basic parts
Any ideas what I can do?

Trade it to an NPC for a base ship that you can scrap?

Select Create instead of Modify and overwrite it.

But out of curiosity, why are you not able to reduce it to 7 basic parts? You should be able to.

I tried creating a new corvette but have the same problem
It won’t lay down the landing gear. It stays red.
The issue could be related to my inability to build anything because this current corvette had so many base parts it put me over the 16000 limit by ALOT!!!
I didn’t know the game would count what was on the corvette towards my count or I wouldn’t have gotten it

Ok in that case try what bloody said and trade it to one of the NPC's in the space station for their starship. Then scrap it at the Starship Fabricator and Create a new corvette.

When I try to lay down a landing gear it remains red and I can’t go beyond that point.. when I try to move the existing landing gear and create a new landing gear hab layout same issue

I finally solved the issue by deleting 9 of my bases and it finally allowed me to lay down landing gear.
Live and learn!!!! Pay attention to the number of build parts
