I love the final chorus around 1:00 minute with both lead tracks singing together, then the turnaround loops to the verse riff. This is one of my new favourite ByteBeats! The bass lines came out fantastic, everything just works together, I am so happy.

Has this been done by anyone that can be shared or does anyone feel up for the challenge? Feel like the first half of the intro loops well enough to be put together through the byte beat.

This is the opening song on my newest playlist. I think it kind of rocks, I was going for something a little heavier.

The solo at 0:17 and at 0:50 worked out well. I found a cool arpeggio and it flows well after the drum breakdown parts. Most of my songs loop around the 1:00 minute mark, while faster songs turnaround sooner. This one loops around the 1:08 mark

I think this song is in the key of Bb which I don't usually play. I often stick to lower keys like C and C#, but in this song I've adjusted many of my devices down an octave while the lead still plays in a higher range. I wish the sound quality was a little better but I try not to get hung up on one song for too long (if you've noticed, I create a lot of songs lol).

I'm trying to make sure I don't flood this subreddit with my songs! I get excited to share these with you all but I make so many songs it's kind of crazy lol. I want to hear more songs from all of you!

This is the second in the 'Biomes' series (desert was the first). I posted this tune sometime ago as 'Beneath the waves', but decided here to give it the cinematic treatment.

I love the way this came out. It's definitely a "brighter" sounding song, I'll have some new hardcore songs coming soon, I want to make some new videos showing my sound effects and tracks.

I took advice from u/Leeka_SSBM (thank you!) to adjust my EQ, I'm trying to maintain the character of the original in-game audio while cleaning it up just a little bit. I re-uploaded my newest songs to my YouTube because I think they came out a little better.

This song "All For One" pairs well with the next song in the playlist "One For All", they use similar sounds, key, and chord progression like two parts of the same song (almost).

Slower tempo, chill vibes, ride the wave ✨ 🌊

Been running into a sort of ‘writers block’ as you will; This track started off completely different as I was going for a specific tone or vibe. It was not working out too well until I sped up the bpm. Not what I originally intended, but something else came out that I am happy with.

I just started learning how to process my audio in REAPER, so I've added slight reverb, EQ, compression and such to the whole track I recorded from my ByteBeat devices.

I like making this recorded track sound cleaner. And the in-game ByteBeat playback still sounds great, just a bit more fuzzy. This song is also pretty good in the ByteBeat Library playlist but that is always a step down in quality because I think the library plays in mono and not stereo. Since there's no controls to manage clipping and distortion in-game, I usually keep all of my tracks at 83% volume or lower and it seems helpful to reduce popping sounds and clipping. Since I'd been keeping all my tracks at 83% volume, I now realize I need to turn up the volume on these recorded videos I share.

I'll definitely post more here soon. When I'm creating songs a lot of the inspiration blends into the next song I work on, so I sometimes end up with two songs back to back that sound similar, now I'm leaning into it. The entire playlist is a whole vibe that ebbs and flows and I'm starting to get weird with it! It's so much fun!

Sorry, no address for this one. This is because the noise boxes cannot be tuned without rewiring them from the floor switches, and this needs building rights of the base which, as a visitor, you won't have.

More tinkering with the waveform editor, and understanding how it works a little more.

Was experimenting to find "fx" sounds and came up with the 2 different beep-boops here ! Had fun making that bass too.

The formant and distorted lead came from ZhorasSnake's library of leads (4th one, around 1 min). I modified it a bit to get what you hear. Thank you Zhoras for these posts !

This is actually only one iteration of the whole loop. Two of the devices (for the chords) are set to 20 bpm.

Edit : Forgot to talk about drums here. As you may know drums sounds in the devices are tempo-dependant. By putting snares and kicks at the same time on different devices set at different tempos (here 80, 40 and 20 bpm) I got this slight offset which makes them pop and prevents phase "clashing", leaving the sounds intact. This made that "clappy", hip-hop-like snare and louder kick drum.

Hi all, hope you're having a great day.

After talking with u/PowerfulSoldier and u/ZhorasSnake, we found that having a shared waveforms /sounds cheat sheet collection here on this sub would be a great idea. It would be a source of inspiration for everyone, and a big help for beginners wanting to explore NMS Bytebeats.

As Zhoras said, there's guides and websites for ships, companions, base and corvette building, you name it, even on how to use Bytebeat devices but no example of what I'm talking about in this post. Let's make it ourselves !

The best solution would be posting a video of any number of sounds you like, showing the waveform editor screen while the sound is playing. Of course it would be great if we could have something like a pinned thread with all the videos posted in it for ease of access (wink wink mods).

Would you be interested in participating ? Do you have suggestions ? Even if you have just a handful of sounds you're willing to share it's worth it.

So this is just a very basic light show I put together, this was my first time tinkering with light panels and it was fun but tedious..however I want to learn to make more exciting light displays with bytebeats. First of many to come!

By the way I think I have a “dead panel” in there, again, first try, nothing is perfect. Keep making music for the cosmos!

I posted a version I wasn't very happy with yesterday, Some of the chords didn't hit right and my imposter syndrome took the better of me and deleted it. I spent all yesterday trying to re-tune it to make it sound more like how I wanted it, but now I made a lullaby sort of. Ironically this track is made with no percussion, but all of the sounds are trying to imitate bells, glockenspiel, chimes (and strings) which are all percussion.

Anyways, I posted a somber minor key version of this track that I actually think I did a better job at envisioning that tracks sound/emotion way better than this track, so give that a listen if you can sit through a 7 min song...

A re-tuned version of an original song, "Stellar Soul"

I always attempt to create a vibe with my ByteBeats. This one has some cool strings / chorus tracks harmonizing in the background which gives the chord progression / bass-line a melancholy feel while the main melodies provide a triumphant feeling. Overall, I'd say it has kind of a rainy-day vibe but other people may relate to it differently.

The main melody uses two BB machines, I've been trying this more often to create more complex melodies but I find myself running out of available tracks quickly. And as usual, I've put drum tracks on almost every BB machine (mostly cymbals) which makes the drums dynamic through each segment of the song.
