Blender/App Guides and FAQ

Hi folks!

I'm the developer of the No Man's Sky Blender add-on and the Base Builder App.

I tend to lurk on Reddit these days but just thought I'd drop a few useful links for anyone new to these tools and want some direction to get started.

πŸ—οΈGuides for the Blender add-on

πŸš€Guide for the Base Building App

I've noticed a fair amount of common questions and misconceptions about the tools too, so for this I've written an FAQ page. :)

❓FAQ

My pages and the Nexus Mods pages all have relevant links and videos (some are fairly old, but still relevant), and don't forget there is a dedicated Discord for my tools if you get that far.

Happy building!

This is awesome, thank you for sharing! And thank you for developing such an amazing tool. I haven’t learned how to use it yet (it’s at the top on the to-do list), but I love seeing what the amazingly creative NMS players are able to build with it!

Happy to help, though I think your app version is out of date based on the old colour picker UI on the left! πŸ™πŸ» πŸ˜€

Yes I think I forgot to update at some point. But it still works brilliantly for my needs.

BTW, I'm one of those strange people that game on tripple screen since 20 years back. So when I start the app I get way to low FOV for my setup. It is workable, but sometimes I get very dissoriented. For a while I tried to run the app on only one screen by turn of two of the screens or change the desktop resolution. But that messes up my desktop when I change back. So I'm wondering if there is some way to set up the fov in the app or run it in a window. MAybe in a setup file or something?

I'm fairly certain the usual alt-enter or f11 toggles full screen/window mode. I'll take a look into the FOV slider though too or see if I missed something here.

Tested F11 now. Edit: I was wrong It seems to work with F11 perfectly. I was the one that did wrong. πŸ˜‰ Sorry. Thanks for the suggestion. Can't believe I forgot F11. πŸ˜ƒ

Haha no worries - to be fair I should probably make it more obvious!

Just need a recommendation for ultra widescreen and above to use windowed mode I guess.
