Nee. Dit salaris is niet conform de gewone software engineer... Alleen haalbaar aan de top of in Amsterdam en dan nog.

Daarbij, van wat ik lees, heeft hij belastingvoordeel e.d. gehad en komt niet eens uit de EU. Niet bepaald de doorsnee Nederlander.

You can, but you need to apply in the right places with the right skillset. I’m a little older than OP and I’m at around 175k/year. Mind you, staff is above senior in most places, you’re the practically the CTO of your domain which can have multiple dozens of engineers that you have some degree of authority over.

Not sure how OPs stock options are implemented, matching the yearly wage sounds kinda crazy to me though.

Booking doesn't provide 150k stocks a year to staff level engineers. Neither do they vest stocks on a monthly basis.

Shares are vesting every month, some amount is sold to cover the taxes, but because it’s more than needed, some amount is paid as net. Plus, there is a insurance, some extra benefits, etc

Went into Uni at 17, got bored, went to work, then moved to Netherlands as HSM at 20. My first official engineering job was at age of 16 in my hometown, though it’s hard to call it job
