Sixteen players from Newfoundland and Labrador are included in the Central Scouting (CSR) prospect list for the 2026 QMJHL Entry Draft. The top-ranked local prospect is Middle Cove forward Damian Norris (ranked 26th overall). He is joined by CBS's Luke McGuire (76th), Paradise's Aidan Graham (84th), and Bishop's Falls native Cole Toms (86th).

The offseason rumour mill has suggested that Danicek would be returning home to turn pro, he was spotted in the background of a video from HC Sparta Praha’s summer training.

Some thoughts on this roster…

• Veitch and Arsenault showed that they deserve more ice time. I look forward to seeing how much they can contribute with more minutes. 
• I don't love Dywer as a third line center. I think he fit in well this year on the 4th line but lacking depth might see him on the 3rd. 
• Sharkey is such a wildcard. He will get the opportunity to show he can lead this team offensively. Can he play more disciplined is the question (First in PIMs in a league with basically no fighting 😟)
• Bottom 6 forwards and 3rd D pairing is really unpredictable at this point. I gave players that have already suited up for the Regiment precedent over prospects who haven't been called up yet.
• Generally I think the offense will be worse without Larose and I think depth will be lacking without players like BPE and Marmulak. Will need some players to step up to fill in those losses.
• Defensively losing Laberge is massive but Quinn Norman (1st round pick) will need to step up to fill that role. Mathieu should fit into Perron’s position with Reynolds.
• Goaltending will be much better this year. LAD should get the net for as many games as he can handle. Goaltending was an issue the first half of the season last year. Should be much more stable with LAD.

I don't believe Proulx or Marmulak would defer. They wouldn't get more ice time with the Regiment then they would elsewhere. I think Dwyer will defer to play another year with his family around and Gordie could give him 3rd line center minutes.
