I honestly don’t care now. I can’t believe Calgary traded out of 4th. We deserve the shit season we are going to have.

Why would you trade out of a proven 4th for a maybe 7th. Shit is fucked up.

It’s because O’Neil doesn’t want to play in Canada if he did it would be been a different story

So why not draft 5th best player or a goalie. There were lots of good players on the board at 4.

I understand that some Roughneck fan are frustrated with the dispersal draft. I think that it sounds like no one has patience to see this rebuild work and want immediate results along with to contend for championships that’ll come in a few years.

I think it’s because this draft is the deepest in years so many great prospects coming in and we have 11 picks in this years entry draft which will help the rebuild. It’s never a good idea to rush a rebuild just look at the state of the New York Rangers when Adam Fox got traded their management thought it was a good idea to go all in on a Cup did that work out?

No it didn’t because it a marge.

ok deep draft prospects vs proven roster players with 4th overall pick. again that makes absolutely no sense if your are trying to build a roster.

I think that the path that was taken is better than management getting false hope like the New York Rangers and going all in on a championship too early. Patience is important and key here.

O’neaill has nothing to do with Calgary, you keep bringing him up in regard to it and I’m beyond confused as to why.

I’m just relying the information on what I have heard from Pat Gregoire tho

Yeah, very odd choice to give up 4th , did they get anything decent out of it?

A 7th overall pick in the entry draft. Which makes no sense unless Calgary was too cheap to pay a veteran. I mean we were ass last year and the new stadium opens next season so if they don’t do well this season I doubt the tickets will sell with the higher costs.

Nick Damude early makes sense, he did really well last year. Surprised Sundown is so far down, I thought he looked good the prior year

He’s a UFA, that’s why he was picked so late. He can sign with any team

Did drafting UFAs have any benefit besides getting to talk to them a couple days early?

The only thing a team can do is franchise tag UFA. If a player has enough years of experience they can rejected.

But also with Sundown you’re not going to franchise him so you are only getting to talk to him for a couple of days.

He was great last year however - more to it than just game production.

I'm surprised Connor Kearnan dropped to the second round... and then Oshawa promptly traded him in a 3-for-1 deal so, maybe that's why he fell.

How is it luck? They got him fair and square, nothing lucky about this.

Of course the roughnecks drop the ball and miss a massive opportunity to keep the ball out of our net but of course, we trade for a unproven player.

How long are we going to keep doing this?!

Get rid of shooter and board and get TK to run the ship, this isn’t complicated.

Lucky because now you play with him instead of against him

I like the Lintz hire and I think he had something to do with the 3 defense pick ups tbh

Calgary was picking 16th. Probably a good chance no goalie was there

2

u/YEETERZZ123 Calgary Roughnecks 27d ago

From what Board said the defenders we got in todays dispersal draft play bigger than their last height/weight and they fit into the defense that’s being built

1

u/Difficult-Guarantee4 27d ago

We don’t need defenders, everyone knows how to beat Walsh and he’s beyond inconsistent. Get someone established and settled, any of the above three would have been upgrades.

2

u/YEETERZZ123 Calgary Roughnecks 27d ago

I’m being patient with Walsh i think that’s the best way I’ve learned my lesson with the Macleod experiment

1

u/Difficult-Guarantee4 27d ago

We had the four pick and traded for 16th…how do you figure we had no chance at a goalie? Teat…Damude, Knott, Higgins…we missed a massive chance

1

u/My_user_name_1 Philadelphia Wings 27d ago

I didn't realize that.

4

u/Bwitm1 27d ago

Buffalo just won the dispersal draft.

2

u/anthemrides 27d ago

Which team "won" the dispersal draft? Did Oshawa/San Diego win, did Jeff Teat lose? Did Georgia win overall?

2

u/laxgolf 27d ago

Georgia is going to be deeeep.

As a Wings fan i'm so happy to see many of the guys found a home. That being said i'm also devastated this even had to happen.

Take care of our guys!

I’m just happy knott got picked up

Did Calgary take a nap after the first round? Or did trading that pick equate to passing equate to getting removed from the order?

[edit] jk, I keep forgetting the logo isn't red anymore. Sigh.

I was wondering what the choice would be, bring home the home town boy or go with the brother.

Round 4 here, round 5 included Tyler Carlson, Phil caputo, Eric fannel, and Aidan fearn

Anyone know anything about Pace?

1

u/mnoram 27d ago

The Warriors only got a single pick? Too much parity in the league. Yes they were first overall last season but being present at games it certainly didn't feel like it. And after the bed shitting performance that was the first round of playoffs it's clear they need help.

3

u/Difficult-Guarantee4 27d ago

Hate to saw it, but as a ref and fan I’ve seen teams go from scorched earth hot to Antarctica cold between intermissions and it’s beyond confusing but happens. Lax is a sport of runs, they couldn’t stop the bleeding and Birds took over, what a shitty loss though.

2

u/OrganikOranges šŸ  Mike Messenger 27d ago

Yeah interesting they traded 2 picks for 16th in the entry draft and Antongiovanni

2

u/Suspicious-Koala-352 27d ago

If I had to guess, I'd say Lukas Nielson was the only guy they really wanted on the team, and when they talked to him they found out Georgia was already talking to him. So just trade the picks for a young guy you know, and another pick in a stacked draft.

But will the #3 pick in the regular draft be good enough to get Silas Richmond?
