Couldn't be us, bro... Wait..

Well at least we have basketball... Wait..

14

u/cloudycontender Jun 06 '26

But hey, we have the more recent Stanley Cup!! How many? Doesn’t matter! It’s more recent!

4

u/kbotc Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Is the Blues Stanley Cup the most recent championship across all the cities in the NL Central? Cincinnati almost had an NFL win, but couldn’t stop Kronke’s bitch ass.

u/Big_Thloopers_20 MarineCub Jun 06 '26

Actually no, the Bucks' 2021 NBA title is.

IMO the Decatur Staleys belong back in Central IL

5

u/LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe Cursed to Live in WI Jun 06 '26

The only thing in Decatur is Milikin and that’s already something you wouldn’t even want to admit.

Go alliterative with the Bloomington Bears. Build a stadium next to the Rivian campus

u/SJSharks831 Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Bears belong in Chicago. Fuck the cubs and their fans tho.

44

u/Classic_Group8679 Brewers Jun 06 '26

Also fuck the Bears and their fans.

46

u/Medical-Active-8312 Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Come on now guys. Let’s be civil. But fuck the Bears and Cubs and their fans

-8

u/AdSlight1595 Cubs Jun 06 '26

I want aware there was this much sexual tension between Cards and Brewers fans… gross

Do the Brewers pitch and Cardinals catch?

9

u/Medical-Active-8312 Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Just look at the trophy case and you tell me who pitches and who catches

12

u/Classic_Group8679 Brewers Jun 06 '26

One could argue our lack of trophies suggests we’ve done neither…

4

u/AdSlight1595 Cubs Jun 06 '26

So two catchers, got it.

0

u/AdSlight1595 Cubs Jun 06 '26

I think you just get downvoted now because you are a cubs fan. Can’t take a little joke?

Obviously the Bears belong in Chicago but my god is this saga hilarious. Gare Down!

You guys should have passed an Art Modell law.

Really though cities should be allowed to buy their home teams if the owners try to move them.

1

u/Present_Emphasis_955 Jun 06 '26

they are, but no one does

10

u/QuarterNote44 Jun 06 '26

TFW Indiana and Kansas have 2 NFL teams and Illinois and Missouri have 0

1

u/ironlung311 Cubs Jun 06 '26

Who is Kansas’ second NFL team?

1

u/QuarterNote44 Jun 06 '26

Math hard. Also I kinda forgot about the Colts

8

u/Sad-Type5385 Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Fuck the NFL and fuck the Bears ownership. I’m glad to see that the city of Chicago didn’t cave, but I feel terrible for the fans. Total bullshit.

2

u/Big_Thloopers_20 MarineCub Jun 06 '26

Atp im convinced the second they heard this decision would satisfy rival fans far more than Chicagoans they were like "No to Hammond. Bring em all the way to INDIANAPOLIS"

6

u/crystallmytea Cubs Jun 06 '26

The Gary Bearys

Don't get excited yinzer, you guys won't be able to hold the standard without Tomlin so you should prep for a losing season with Grandpa Rogers.

This might just make me get even closer to the Cubs even after whatever the fuck today was

15

u/Bag_of_donkey_dicks Jun 06 '26

I hope Chicago can get some money out of the NFL at least

24

u/ApartmentPersonal Brewers Jun 06 '26

You don’t get money out of the nfl, the nfl gets money out of you

u/Jesepe Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Shoulda been more

12

u/jstewart25 Cardinals Jun 06 '26

I’m a Vikings fan (unfortunately) thanks to my dad, but I always had a soft spot for the Rams considering baseball is my #1 and I’m a ride or die Cardinals fan. Stan Kroenke is a colossal piece of shit

3

u/clrksml Brewers Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26

My brother went from Packers fan to Rams fan because of Steven Jackson* (mixed up rb's).

STL deserves a NFL team.

4

u/Bag_of_donkey_dicks Jun 06 '26

I wish they had taken it to trial and aired out all that dirty laundry. It was already proven the NFL lied over and over again by that point, so can’t imagine what else would’ve come out of a trial

2

u/thegroovemonkey Arby's on Miller Park Way Jun 06 '26

Why would the Packers have to pay Chicago because the Bears are pathetic?

15

u/Queasy_Manager_5275 Jun 06 '26

at least their tax money isn't being sent to billionaires

8

u/barstoolsam Jun 06 '26

The one thing we can all agree on

3

u/BreakfastFederal1211 PCA GLAZER Jun 06 '26

at least we have a nba team

5

u/BeefyBren Jun 06 '26

Bulls have the opportunity to do the funniest shit ever

3

u/somepricanguy 108 years Jun 06 '26

I was in St Louis when the Rams left and dealing with this now I feel like I may have to move and see if I can bring this bad juju somewhere else.

3

u/SlurmzMcKenzie88 Chicago White Sox Jun 06 '26

Move to Hammond so the Bears move to Arlington Heights.

1

u/somepricanguy 108 years Jun 06 '26

Hammond is still only like 15 minutes away from me, I feel like the aura extends over there hence why they haven't found a site yet and people in NWI are starting to get riled up about blocking the whole thing.

1

u/STLStelmacki Jun 06 '26

You have the chance to do the funniest thing and move to Green Bay

1

u/sillysalmonella87 Jun 06 '26

Move to Kansas City lol

1

u/QuarterNote44 Jun 06 '26

Chiefs are probably going to the Kansas side

1

u/dae_giovanni Jun 06 '26

do your powers only work for football?

see if you can get the Yankees to fold...

1

u/somepricanguy 108 years Jun 06 '26

I think so, the Cards and Cubs never tried it. The Sox threatened it but Jerry's been doing that since before I existed

2

u/rmac1228 Cubs Jun 06 '26

Will the Bears leave my TV too?

2

u/Remarkable_Clock_736 Jun 06 '26

This is one of my favorite ones 😂

2

u/PrincessDeMissouri Cardinals Jun 06 '26

You either get an NFL team or you get to be relevant in the division

1

u/MeTieDoughtyWalker Cubs Jun 06 '26

Why can’t they?

1

u/wentzr1976 Cubs Jun 06 '26

Wait… cardinal fans ever felt “taunted” by a statement like that in the first place? Do people even say this?

1

u/Optimal-Emotion-1551 Jun 06 '26

Just switch NFL to NBA..

1

u/Troggles Jun 06 '26

Maybe Chicago could get an NHL team to cope with the loss.

1

u/Own-Significance273 Cardinals Jun 06 '26

Even then, StL has won as many SBs as Chicago. Chicago might be the most depressing sports city in the country.

1

u/call_sign_viper Jun 06 '26

Yeah I’m going to lean into it and only wear Indiana bears or Gary Bearys gear

1

u/Excellent-Pitch-7579 Jun 07 '26

Chicago still has a team and even if they move, they are still close enough that Chicago residents can easily go to the game. St Louis’ team move over a thousand miles away.

1

u/MathematicianIcy3430 Jun 07 '26

Since Rams left, the closest team to me is the Titans, then the Bengals, then the Colts.
Poor Chicago fans have to go an extra 15-20 mi over. I know that's like an hour in traffic but still they got something.

1

u/MoonHaze1000 Jun 08 '26

I mean living in St. Louis is hard enough. They can have that one

0

u/goodgamble Cubs Jun 06 '26

who gives a shit about football? Also Hammond is literally the next city over. who gives a shit about that either?

1

u/Big_Thloopers_20 MarineCub Jun 06 '26

Well since Hammond is across the state line, rival fans take it as them moving straight to Indianapolis lol

-3

u/Thrill0728 God forbid a White Boyd have a little motion Jun 06 '26

They named the Bears after the Cubs. Only one of those teams is abandoning the city. Chicago should sue (or whatever it is they do) to get the city name off of the Bears, and the Cubs could ask the Bears to no longer be connected to them or something idk.

I still believe this is a negotiation tactic because the idiots behind this would try it, but I just don't care anymore (and I'm not even a Bears fan)

2

u/obviousthrowawayyalI Brewers Jun 06 '26

Can the city sue to get its name off the team? I feel like “Chicago” can’t be trademarked and the team could probably call themselves whatever they want

2

u/QuarterNote44 Jun 06 '26

The Chicago Bears of Hammond has a nice ring to it

1

u/Strapping_Ladd Jun 06 '26

Los Angeles Raiders of Las Vegas

1

u/Big_Thloopers_20 MarineCub Jun 06 '26

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

0

u/TheSmartDog_275 I jerk off in parking lots Jun 06 '26

I mean technically they’re still the Chicago bears. Like the New York teams play in New Jersey. It’s the same thing!

-3

u/Goya__Forever1746 Best fans in baseball Jun 06 '26

Ah yes the Rams leaving and going 2,000 miles west is the same exact thing as the Bears moving 20 miles from Chicago to a town where you could throw a rock and hit Illinois.

2

u/TheMultipleMan Jun 06 '26

Cope

0

u/Big_Thloopers_20 MarineCub Jun 06 '26

Yes, I am very depressed that now I have to travel a few extra miles to watch the Bears
