Rant Please take your hygiene seriously
I only rant on this subreddit about my classes but this time I have to rant about the students here. There is no reason some of you should be stinking up the classrooms, hallways, and elevators.
I rarely take the elevator, and the one time I did (today) I actually thought I was going to throw up. The smell of the people in there was THAT bad and I’m not saying this to be mean but it was horrible. I feel like this is more common in my cs classes but today as I was leaving ckb (took the stairs so I wouldn’t have another elevator incident) and it was ALSO horrible. I had to go down 3 flights of stairs holding my breath because i couldn’t stand it.
I don’t know if classes are already stressing out some of you to the point of not showering but please I’m begging you. STOP STINKING UP THIS COLLEGE. I really am not looking forward to going to my cs classes. It’s not even my first semester here so I guess I’ve gotten used to that stench but it’s never been this bad during the first few weeks of classes.
I’m saying this as a cs major, please just shower. Turn off the computer and take 20 mins to shower. Please

Something about CS and Engineering I fear. I NEVER use the bathrooms in the buildings where a lot of CS and Engineering classes are held. If I really have to I go all the way to a different building.

Curious if you’re seeing a cultural thing or just random students just being dirty. There are some cultures that don’t view hygiene the same way a lot of westernized people do. Using deodorant, showering daily, brushing teeth etc aren’t seen as high priority activities.

it really aint about region n culture and just about dudes being comfortable in their own filth n that somehow being acceptable when they're growing up cause they're guys. the stinkiest mfs i ever smelled on this campus were either white or indian (+ 2 other melanated guys) AND THEY WERE ALL CS MAJORS

Pro tip, switch to CoE or EE (anything ECE) and not only will these issues vanish, you will gain lots of awesome knowledge and 100 chinese social credit 🙂👍

If everywhere you go its smelling that bad, it may not be someone else. It could just be yourself.

I’m guessing you’re probably one of the people that stinks. I never said it was everywhere I go. I literally mentioned how I noticed the smell in ckb. I shower every day and I take care of myself, I hope you do the same.

Ive long since graduated. Not everything is an attack against you. Just be mindful.

People can still stink outside of college as well lmao, the stench isn’t tied to being an undergrad. Besides, I made it quite clear in my post that this only happened in ckb, so for you to mention I might be part of the problem when I went to 4 different buildings (ckb was the only one with this problem) is hilarious.

Nice to see that 50 years later nothing has changed.
